Quran About Zina of Eyes
Now I will explain the Quran about Zina of Eyes. But, to be honest, I don't know for sure how many verses of the Quran explain that. But, in general, the explanation of Zina of Eyes is in the following two verses of the Quran:
قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَزْكَىٰ لَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ
Say men who believe; "Let them hold their gaze and guard their vital organs", such is purer for them. Allah knows best what they are doing. (An-Nur: 30).
وَقُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا ۖ وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّ ۖ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَائِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَائِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي أَخَوَاتِهِنَّ أَوْ نِسَائِهِنَّ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُنَّ أَوِ التَّابِعِينَ غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ أَوِ الطِّفْلِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَىٰ عَوْرَاتِ النِّسَاءِ ۖ وَلَا يَضْرِبْنَ بِأَرْجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعْلَمَ مَا يُخْفِينَ مِن زِينَتِهِنَّ ۚ وَتُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
Say it to women who believe; “Let them hold their gaze, guard their vital organs, and they should not show their jewelery except for the plain. They are to cover the veil over their breasts, and they must not show their jewelry except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their sons-in-law, or their sons, or their husbands' sons, or their relatives. , or the sons of their brothers, or the sons of their sisters, or Muslim women, or the slaves they have, or male servants who have no desire (towards women), or children who do not understand the genitals of women. And do not strike their feet so that it is known the jewels they are hiding. And all of you repent to Allah, O you who believe, so that you will be lucky. (An-Nur: 31).
Hadith about Zina of Eyes
Now I will discuss the hadith about Zina of Eyes. But, to be honest, I don't know for sure how many hadiths describe it. But, in general, we can find an explanation of adultery in the hadith below:
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا : كَانَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ رَدِيْفَ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . فَجَاءَتْ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَم فَجَعَلَ الْفَضْلُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا وَتَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ , وَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْرِفُ وَجْهَ الْفَضْلِ إِلَى الشِّقِّ الْآخَرِ , فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ , إِنَّ فَرِيْضَةَ اللهِ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ فِيْ الْحَجِّ , أَدْرَكْتُ أَبِيْ شَيْخًا كَبِيْرًا لَايَثْبُتُ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ : أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ . وَذَلِكَ فِيْ حَجِّ الْوَدَاعِ . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ
From Ibn Abbas radliyallahu anhuma, "Al-Fadl bin Abbas radliyallahu anhu once followed the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Then a woman from Khats'am came. Al-Fadl then saw her, and she saw him. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam then turned al-Fadl's face in the other direction. The woman then said, "O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, the obligation that Allah has given to His servants is Hajj. I knew that my father was very old. He is unable to travel; Can I do Hajj for him? He replied, "Yes." It happened to the al-Wada Hajj (farewell hajj)." The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Punishment of Zina of Eyes in Quran
Now I will explain the punishment for Zina of Eyes in Quran. To be honest, if we find out about it, then we won't find a specific explanation for it. At least that's what I found. However, we can estimate the punishment by understanding the Quranic verses that describe Zina of Eyes.
If we understand the two verses of the Quran which describe Zina of Eyes as I have explained above, then we can conclude a number of things as follows:
- One: the punishment for Zina of Eyes in the Quran is that the person who does that will get a sin. I think we all know the bad consequences we will receive if we sin. I won't explain that here.
- Two: the punishment for Zina of Eyes in the Quran is that the person who does that will be troubled. His heart and mind will not be calm. In fact, it is very possible that he will become obsessed with committing various vices after he commits Zina of Eyes. I make such a conclusion because one of the objectives of the prohibition of Zina of Eyes is so that the minds and days of Muslims are clean and calm.

How to Repent for Zina of Eyes?
Now I will explain one of the things that are often asked by Muslims about how to remove the sin of Zina of Eyes, "How to repent for Zina of Eyes?". This question is a very logical question because eye adultery is one of the sins that is often committed by some Muslims.
Actually, there are many ways that Muslims can do to wash away sins due to Zina of Eyes. But, the most common way to repent for Zina of Eyes is to perform ablution and pray. For me personally, ablution and prayer are the two easiest ways to do it. Why is that?
Wudu is one of the important rituals in Islam. When a Muslim performs ablution, he must wash his face. The eye is one part of a person's face. Zina of Eyes is a sin committed with the eye. For this reason, when a Muslim rubs his face when he performs ablution, it is as if he is erasing all the sins he has ever committed with the body parts in the face area. And, that is what wudu should be like.
Praying is a way for Muslims to give something to their God. That's why, if they want to repent for Zina of Eyes, then that is one of the best ways they can do it. They must ask Allah to forgive them the sins they have committed.
Dua for Forgiveness of Zina of Eyes

اَللُّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّيْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِيْ وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوْءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ , وَأَبُوُءْ بِذَنْبِيْ , فَاغْفِرْلِيْ , فَإِنَّهُ لَايَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me. I am Your servant. I am always in Your promises and I promise You according to my ability. I take refuge in You from the bad things I have done. I acknowledge all the blessings You have done give it to me. I confess my sin. So, forgive me. Truly, no one can forgive all sins except You.
