Yawning When Someone Is Praying (Salat); Is It Permissible?

Shariah Online: Yawning When Someone Is Praying (Salat) ~ Hi all readers! In this article I will explain about one more problem that is usually done by someone who is praying. Yup! The problem I mean is yawning. Yawning is one of the activities usually carried out by someone. The causes vary, because they are sleepy, too full, lazy, and so on. In Islamic teachings there is a special discussion about that. The question is, is that okay?

As usual! Before I answer the question above, I will quote one hadith related to yawning. Pay attention!

From Abu Hurairah radliyallaahu anhu, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Yawning is an act of Satan. If one of you yawns, then let him cover it as best he can.” The hadith is narrated by Muslim and at-Tirmidhi.
