Why Is the Explanation of Yawning During Prayer Important?

عَنْ أَبِيْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ؛ التَّثَاؤُبُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ، فَإِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَكْظِمْ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ . رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ

From Abu Hurairah radliyallahu anhu, that Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Yawning is an act of Satan. If one of you yawns, then let him cover it as best he can.” The hadith is narrated by Muslim and at-Tirmidhi.

There are some important things related to the hadith above that we need to know;

One: the hadith explains, that we must stay away from deeds that Satan likes, such as yawning, getting drunk, and so on.

Two: the hadith explains, that we must cover our mouths when we yawn.

Three: if someone yawns when he is praying, it can eliminate solemn (khusu’) in prayer.

Does Yawning Break Prayer in Islam?
