Specifically, there are two important things about “what to say when you fart in Islam?” which I will explain in this article. Two important things I mean are as follows:

Why Do You Need to Say Something After Farting in Islam?

The first important thing about “what to say when you fart in Islam?” what I will explain now is “why do you need to say something after farting in Islam?”. I want you to understand that first so you understand the urgency of our discussion.

Before I explain the answer to the question “why do you need to say something after farting in Islam?”, I want to say that farting is normal. Everyone farts. Farting is one sign that a person is healthy. If someone can't fart, he's sick. He must be treated. In Islam, health is one of the blessings that Allah has given to His creatures.

So, if you ask me, "why do you need to say something after farting in Islam?", the answer is because we have had pleasure. Allah has given us the pleasure of farting. That's the answer.

In Islam, there are many verses of the Quran and hadiths that explain the obligation to give thanks. You can find some examples in the following paragraphs:

Quran About Why Do You Need to Say Something After Farting in Islam

Some Quranic verses about why do you need to say something (thankfulness) after farting are as follows:

So, remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me. (Al-Baqarah [2]; 152).

Rather, worship [only] Allah and be among the grateful. (Az-Zumar [39]; 66).

And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.” (Ibrahim [14]; 7).

As favor from us. Thus, do We reward he who is grateful. (Al-Qamar [54]; 35).

Hadith About Why Do You Need to Say Something After Farting in Islam

Some hadiths about why do you need to say something (thank you) after farting are as follows:

A believer is really amazing, because every thing is good. But that will not happen except for a true believer. If he finds pleasure, he is grateful, and that is good for him. If he is in trouble, he is patient, and that is good for him.

From Ibn Abbas, he said that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Two pleasures, many people are deceived by them, namely health and free time (not busy)."

From Jabir, that the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said: "Whoever is given a gift, then if he finds something let him reciprocate. If he has nothing, then let him mention some praise. For whoever has mentioned some praise, then he has expressed his gratitude. And whoever refrains (from doing so) then he has committed Kufr. And whoever pretends to be satisfied by that which he was not given, he is like the one who wears a garment of falsehood."

From Imran bin Hashin radliyallahu anhu, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "Verily Allah is pleased to see the effect of the favor that He has given to His servants." The hadith was narrated by al-Baihaqi.

That's a brief explanation of “why do you need to say something after farting in Islam?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.

What to Say When You Fart in Islam?

The second important thing about “what to say when you fart in Islam?” what I'm going to explain now is a specific answer. So, you should read the explanation below very well.

In the previous few paragraphs, I have explained that farting is one of the blessings that Allah has given to His creatures. As Muslims, we must always be grateful. I have explained several verses of the Quran and hadith about the advice of gratitude and the fatal consequences if we deny Allah's favor.

So, if you ask me, “what to say when you fart in Islam?", the answers are words of gratitude.

In Islam, there are many expressions of gratitude. One of them is “Al-Hamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin (الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ).”

All readers! That's a brief explanation of “what to say when you fart in Islam?” and some important things about it. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!

I think that's enough for this article. Hope it is useful. Amen.

See you again in the next article!
