The first important thing about “what to do if you commit Zina?” what I will explain now is “why is it important to explain what to do after Zina?”. I want you to understand that before you read more explanations in this article so that you can understand the urgency of our discussion. In other words, that was one of the motives for writing this article.

One very important thing you must always remember is that Zina is one of the major sins. The point is that Muslims are strictly prohibited from doing so. People who have committed Zina and do not repent will get a very big torment in Hell.

The person who has committed Zina must repent to wash away his sins and so that he will not be tormented in Hell. He was tortured because he had sinned.

So, if you ask me, “Why is it important to explain what to do after Zina?”, then the answer is because it can tell you what to do if you have committed Zina. So that you can repent from Zina. So that you will not be tortured in Hell.

In Islamic literacy, repenting of any sins, including sins after Zina, must be done in certain ways. That is, repenting from sin cannot be done arbitrarily. But, unfortunately, not all Muslims understand that. That’s why, if you don’t know what to do if you have committed Zina, then an explanation about it in this article is very important for you.

That’s a brief explanation of “why the explanation of what to do after Zina is important?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.

What to Do If You Committed Zina?

The second important thing about “what to do if you committed Zina?” what I will explain now are the things you should do after Zina. But before I explain that, I want to say, that what I am going to explain about it are common things to do after Zina. So maybe if you read other articles about Zina, you will find a different explanation. But one thing for sure is that what I am about to explain are things that are very useful for you.

Specifically, there are eight things you should do after Zina which I will describe now. The eight things I mean are as follows:

  1. Realizing that Zina is a great sin.
  2. Regret for Zina.
  3. Swearing never to commit Zina again.
  4. Janabah bath.
  5. Performing the prayer of repentance.
  6. Reading Istighfar.
  7. Reading Salawat.
  8. Pray that Allah will forgive you after Zina.

The explanation of the eight things you must do after Zina is as follows:

Realizing That Zina Is a Great Sin

The first important thing you should do after Zina is to realize that Zina is a big sin. You must realize it with your mind and soul that Zina is a great sin that should not be committed. You have to do that so that you have motivation so that you don’t commit Zina.

Regret for Zina

The second important thing you have to do after Zina is regret Zina. You must regret that. In fact, if it is absolutely necessary, you have to cry. The regrets and cries that you do after Zina will remind you of the big mistakes you have made so that you don’t make the same mistakes. So, that you do not commit Zina again.

Swearing Never to Commit Zina Again

The third important thing that you must do after Zina is swear not to commit Zina again. The oath is your pledge that Zina was a big mistake, you regretted it, and you won’t do it again.

The oath not to commit Zina again does not have to be done in front of many people. So, you just have to do it alone by witnessing Allah. Others don’t have to know you’ve done that because it’s a disgrace.

Janabah Bath

The fourth important thing that you must do after Zina is Janabah bath. Janabah bath is one type of bath that you must do if you have committed Zina. Why? Because Janabah bath is a mandatory ritual that must be done by a Muslim who has had sex. Zina is sex without marriage which is true according to Islam. I have explained a lot about the Janabah bath in this article.
