The second important point about “what should you not do in a mosque?” what I’m going to explain here is an explanation of that. In general, things that should not be done in the mosque are things that are against Islam, such as drunkenness, Zina, killing, and so on. These are all bad deeds which are strictly prohibited in Islam.
But there are two things that are specifically prohibited if done in a mosque even though its original status is that it is permissible. We can find this explanation in the two hadiths below:
From Abu Hurairah radliyallahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said, “If you see a person who sells and buys in a mosque, then tell him, “May Allah not benefit your trade.” The hadith is narrated by an- Nasa’i and at-Tirmidhi.
From Abu Hurairah radliyallahu anhu, he said, “The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Whoever hears someone searches for lost items in the mosque, then let him say, “May Allah not return it to you. Indeed, mosques are not built for this purpose.” The hadith is narrated by Muslim.
All readers! If we understand the two hadiths above and some of the explanations above, then we can conclude that the things you should not do in the mosque are as follows:
One: all bad things that are against Islam, such as drunkenness, adultery, murder, and so on.
Two: trading in the mosque.
Three: looking for something missing. The point is that if you lose money in the mosque, then you should not look for it.
All readers! That’s a brief explanation of “what should you not do in a mosque?”. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!
I think that’s enough for this article. May be useful. Amen.
