Does Touching Penis Damage Ablution (Wudu)? ~ Hi all readers! In this article, I will explain the problem related to men. But this also needs to be known by women, especially those who have already married aka already have a husband. The problem that I mean is related to the penis. Clearly, does touch penis damage ablution (wudu)? In general, touching the penis can occur in two conditions; conscious condition and unconscious condition.
What I mean by a conscious condition is when someone touches it according to his own will, whether it’s when he is in the bathroom, in the bedroom, or in another place. What I mean by unconscious conditions is when someone is not aware that he has touched him, such as when he is sleeping or something else.
As always, before I answer the question above and speak more about does touching penis damage ablution (wudu), I will quote two hadiths of Prophet Muhammad who specifically spoke about it.
Hadith About Touching Penis and Ablution (Wudu)
The hadith about touching penis and ablution (wudu) that I mean is as follows;
From Thaliq bin Ali radliyallahu anhu, he said, “Someone has said, “I have touched my cock.” Or the person who has touched his penis asks, does he have to ablution (wudu)?” The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Truly that (penis) part of your body.” The hadith is narrated by five people (Ahmad, Abu Daud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah).
From Busrah bin Shafwan radliyallahu anha, that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Whoever has touched his penis, then let him ablution.” The hadith is narrated by five people (Ahmad, Abu Daud, at-Tirmidzi, an -Nasa’i, Ibn Majah).
All readers! If we look at the two hadiths above, we will understand that each hadith gives a different opinion about this issue; the first hadith says that touching the penis cannot cancel wudlu, while the second hadith says that it can cancel wudlu. So how do we understand it?
There are differences of opinion among experts on Islamic law about the law of touching the penis. The difference of opinion I mean is as follows;
