Things That Require Muslim to Bath According to Islam

Learning Islamic Shariah: Things That Require Muslim to Bath According to Islam ~ Hi all readers! In this article I will explain things that require and encourage someone to take a bath. So, actually not all bathing activities are mandatory and permissible, but there are also those that are recommended. Mandatory bathing is a bath which if not done, as a result a person may not do some activities. Bathing that is permissible is a bath which may or may not be carried out. As for baths that are recommended are baths that are better done.

As usual, before I explain about things that require Muslim to bath according to Islam, I will quote the hadith that is really specific about this theme. Pay attention!

From Aisha radliyallaahu anha, she said, “The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam bathed from four things; jinabah, Friday, ihtijam, and bathing the died.” The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud.

Important Points in Janabah Bathing

There are several things related to the hadith above that we need to know;

One; Hadiths above explain, that janabah (sex and sperm discharge) requires someone to take a bath.

Two; Someone is recommended to take a bath on Friday, after recording, and after bathing the person who has died.

All readers! If we observe the hadith and the brief explanation above, then we know that the bath whose status is obligatory is only bathing in jinabah. I have explained that in a number of previous articles. As for bathing, the recommended status is bathing on Friday, after recording, and after bathing the person who has died.

Bathing on Friday is usually carried out by Muslim men before their Friday prayers at the mosque. Are Muslim women recommended to do that? If I observe the hadith above, I do not find the limitations of the subject who must do that. So, in my opinion, this recommendation also applies to Muslim women.

You need to know that bathing on Fridays is highly recommended. Its status is not just a recommended, but it is highly recommended. We can get this information in the hadith below;

From Abu Sa’id radliyallaahu ‘anhu, that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Bathing on Friday is obligatory for every adult.” The hadith is narrated by seven people (Ahmad, al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Daud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah).

All readers! The word “obligatory” in the hadith above does not mean obligation, but advice that is very necessary to do. We can conclude from the hadith below;

From Samurah bin Jundub, he said, “The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam has said, “Whoever has ablutions on Friday, then it is for him and that is good. Whoever takes a bath, then bathes more.” The hadith has been narrated by five people (Ahmad, Abu Daud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah).

The recommended shower after this is actually intended so that the blood coming out of the body does not continue to flow. Mandi is believed to be able to stop it. In a number of previous articles, I have stated, that the blood that comes out other than the front path (penis and vagina) and the back road (anus) is not unclean. I think I have also expressed differences of opinion about the status of bathing after someone bathes a deceased person; there are differences of opinion among Islamic law experts about that. So, I don’t think I need to explain again in this article.

After I explain this theme on things that require Muslim to bath according to Islam, do you understand? If you don’t understand, please ask!

I think that is enough for this article. May be useful!

See you again in the next article!
