For example, “Now we are sick. Medical diagnosis decides that our bodies should not be exposed to water. If our body is exposed to water, our health will get worse or even we will die.
As Muslims, we have an obligation to pray. As we have seen, before we pray, we must ablaze. When we perform ablution, of course, our bodies will be exposed to water. The question is, how do we deal with that problem? Are we allowed to do Tayamum instead of ablution?”

The hadith about Tayamum for people who worries about death that I mean is as follows:
عَنْ اِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا — فِيْ قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:…وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرۡضَىٰٓ أَوۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ … فَقَالَ ؛ إِذَا كَانَتْ بِالرَّجُلِ الْجِرَاحَةُ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَالْقُرُوْحُ ، فَيَجْنُبُ ، فَيَخَافُ أَنْ يَمُوْتَ إِنِ اغْتَسَلَ ، تَيَمَّمَ . رَوَاهُ الدَّارُقُطْنِيُّ
From Ibni Abbas radliyallaahu anhumaa – about the word of Allah Azza wa Jalla, “… and if you are sick, or on a journey … (An-Nisa’ ; 43) —he then said, “If there is a wound and ulcers in someone’s body because of fighting in the way of Allah then he is junub and he is worried that he will die if he bathes, then he can do Tayamum.” This hadith is narrated by ad-Daruquthni.
All readers! If we look at the hadith above, then of course we already know the answer to the two questions above. Yup! The answer is we have to do Tayamum instead of ablution. We can do that, even if the risk is most fatal if our body is exposed to water, then the law of doing Tayamum which originates “may” will change to “mandatory”. That is because maintaining life’s safety is one of the obligations in Islamic teachings — Islam forbids any action that has the potential to kill the human soul, except in forced circumstances.
