وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُوْنِيْٓ اَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۗاِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِيْ سَيَدْخُلُوْنَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِيْنَ

And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible. (Gharfir [40]: 60).

عَنِ النُّعْمَانَ بْنِ بَشِيْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ العِبَادَةُ

From Nukman bin Basyir radiyallahu anhuma, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "Verily dua is worship."

Now, if you ask me, “why should you say dua for success?”, the answer is because dua is one way to get success. I say that because hard work will not be enough to get success without dua. Hard work is the ultimate effort to get success. Dua is an inner effort for success.

Is Tahajjud Dua for Success Accepted?

The second important thing about Tahajjud dua for success which I will explain now is "is Tahajjud dua for success accepted?". I want you to understand that now because it is one of the important questions in this discussion.

Tahajjud Dua Accepted

Before I give you the answer to the question (is Tahajjud dua for success accepted?), I will quote one hadith about Tahajjud dua or dua after Tahajjud. One hadith that I mean is as follows:

عَنْ أَبِيْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : أَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : يَنْزِلُ رَبُّنَا تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا ، حِيْنَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الآخِرِ يَقُوْلُ : مَنْ يَدْعُوْنِيْ فَأَسْتَجِيْبُ لَهُ , مَنْ يَسْأَلُنِيْ فَأُعْطِيْهِ , مَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُنِيْ فَأَغْفِرُ لَهُ

From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said, "Our Lord (Allah) the Most Holy and Exalted descends into the world's sky every night, when the last third of the night remains. He said, “Whoever prays to Me, I will surely answer. Whoever asks of me, I will surely give. Whoever begs me for forgiveness, I will surely forgive him."

All readers! The above hadith explains that Allah Taala descends to the heavens of the world in the last third of the night. He answered the prayer of someone who was praying at that time. He granted the request of someone who asked at the time. He forgives the sins of those who ask Him for forgiveness at that time.

So, if you ask me, "is Tahajjud dua for success accepted?", the answer is "Yes. If we say the Tahajjud prayer sincerely and correctly."

What is meant by saying Tahajjud dua in earnest is to sincerely ask Allah Taala to grant Him the Tahajjud dua.

Tahajjud Dua for Success

The First Dua

The first Tahajjud dua for success is as follows (this is the Prophet Muhammad's dua after Tahajjud prayer):

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَيِّمُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيْهِنَّ , وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، لَكَ مُلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيْهِنَّ ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ , أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ , أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ ، وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ ، وَلِقَاؤُكَ حَقٌّ ، وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ ، وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ ، وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ ، وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ ، وَمُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَقٌّ ، وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ ، اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ ، وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ ، وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ ، وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ ، وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ ، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

O Allah, all praise be to You. You are the ruler of all the heavens and the earth and all the creatures in them. All praise to You. All the kingdoms of heaven and earth and everything in them are yours. All praise to You. You are the light of all heaven and earth. All praise to You. You are the True God. Your promise is true. Meeting You is true. Your word is true. Heaven is true. Hell is True. On the Prophet is true. Muhammad sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam is true. Doomsday is true. O Allah, only to You I surrender. Only in You I have faith. Only to You I put my trust. Only to You I represent. It's only because of you that I fight. And only to You I ask for justice. Forgive the sins I have committed and have not committed, the sins that I have committed secretly and openly. You are God who puts first and ends. There is no god but You.

The Second Prayer

The second Tahajjud dua for second success is as follows (this is the Quranic verse in surah al-Baqarah, verse 201):

رَبَّنَآ اٰتِنَا فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِى الْاٰخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

…Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. (Al-Baqarah [02]: 201).
