Dictate Sentence of Tawheed To People Who Will Die

Islam Today: Hi all readers! I think we all know what sentence of Tawheed is. Okay! If you don’t know what is sentence of Tawheed, then I will explain it. The sentence is لاإله إلا الله [there is no god but Allah]. A Muslim is highly recommended to read the sentence often. But in this article, I will explain the command to dictate sentence of Tawheed to people who will die.

As usual, before I further explain the command to dictate sentence of Tawheed to people who will die, I will quote one hadith that is specifically related to our discussion. The hadith I mean is as follows;

From Abu Sa’id and Abu Hurairah radliyallahu ‘anhuma. They both said, Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said,” Dictate the sentence “لاإله إلا الله [there is no god but Allah]” to those who will die. The hadith is narrated by four people (Abu Daud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’I, and Ibn Majah).

Recommendations to Remembering Death in Islam

There are some important things about the above hadith that we need to know;

  1. We are encouraged to often say the sentence of Tawheed (لاإله إلا الله [there is no god but Allah]), especially dictating the sentence to the person who is going to die.
  2. The sentence of Tawheed (لاإله إلا الله [there is no god but Allah]) is one reason we will get eternal happiness.
  3. The hadith above explains the suggestion of dictating the sentence of Tawheed (لاإله إلا الله [there is no god but Allah]), to Muslims who will die.
  4. If the person who will die is non-Muslim, then we are not ordered to dictate the sentence of Tawheed (لاإله إلا الله [there is no god but Allah]) to him/her. But we are ordered to invite that person to enter Islam.

All Readers! That is a brief explanation of the command to dictate sentence of Tawheed to people who will die. Now, do you all understand? If you want to ask, please ask!

I think that is enough for this article. May be useful!

See you again in the next article!
