Islamic Rule On Website: Seeing the Sky When Someone is Praying (Salat) ~ Hi all readers! In this article I will explain the status of seeing the sky when someone is praying and the law. There is little in common in this discussion with some previous explanations about the status of turning around when we are praying and the law. عَنْ جَابِرٍ بْنِ سَمْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ ؛ قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؛ لِيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ يَرْفَعُوْنَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فِيْ الصَّلَاةِ أَوْ لَا تَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ . رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ

From Jabir bin Samurah radliyallaahu ‘anhu, he said, “Allah’s Messenger sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salalm said, “Really, let the people stop raising their visions into the sky when they are praying or that (their visions) are not back to them.” The hadith is narrated by Muslim.

There are some important things related to the hadith above that we need to know;

One; The hadith explains, that we should not direct our vision to the sky when we are praying.

Two; The prohibition exists because if we direct our vision to the sky when we are praying, then that mean we are not facing the direction of qiblah. That is not the position that should be done when we are praying.

Three; The hadith explain, that we must maintain concentration when we pray.

Four; The hadith explain, that we must hurry to prevent something that is not good if we are able to do that.

All readers! If we look at the brief description above, of course we already know, then we should not direct our eyes to the sky when we are praying. I have already explained some of that in a number of points above.

The topic conclusions this time are slightly different from the conclusions of the discussion about turning around. I did not find any differences of opinion among the experts on Islamic law about this potential.
