Period of Validity of Rubbing Shoes (Khuff) ~ Hi all readers! In the previous article, I explained the possibility of rubbing both shoes instead of washing both feet in ablution (wudu). In this article, I will explain the validity period of sweeping on the shoe. As Muslims, we need to know about this because this is related to our holiness, and maybe we are including people who have, or are, or will do this.
As always, before I speak more about the period of validity of rubbing shoes (Khuff), I will present hadith that related to our discussion.
Hadith About Rubbing Shoes (Khuff)
The hadith about rubbing shoes (Khuff) that I mean is as follows:
From Shafwan bin Assal, he said, “The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam told us if we traveled so that we would take off our shoes for three days and three nights except from Janabah, but from stools, urinating, and sleeping.” Hadith it is narrated by an-Nasa’i and at-Tirmidhi.
From Ali bin Abi Talib radliyallahu Taala anhu, “The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam has made three days and three nights for people who travel and overnight for people who live at home.” The hadith is narrated by Muslim.
From Abu Imarah radliyallahu anhu, that he said, “O Messenger of Allah, can I wipe both shoes?” The Messenger of Allah said, “Yes.” He said, “Two days?” The Messenger of Allah said, “Yes.” He said, “Three days?” The Messenger of Allah said, “Yes, it’s up to you.” The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud.
From Abu Bakrah radliyallahu anhu of Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, “That he gave relief for people who traveled up to three days and nights and for people who lived in the house until a day and a night. If he has cleansed and used both shoes, then let him rub the top.” The hadith is narrated by ad-Daruquthni.
All readers! If we observe some of the hadith above, then at least we will understand a number of things as follows;
One; There are differences in hadith about the period of validity of the stroke; some say limited and some say no. The majority of Islamic law experts say that the validity period is limited, but the Malikiyah sect says that it is unlimited.
Two; Hadith that say, that the validity period of the sweep is limited says, that the validity period for people traveling is three days and three nights, while for people who stay at home is a day and a night.
Three; Someone has to take off both of his shoes if he has a large face, such as having sex, semen out, menstruation, etc., even though the period of the sweep has not expired.
Do you understand? I think the explanation I have explained is very clear. So, I hope you understand.
I think that is enough for this article about period of validity of rubbing shoes (Khuff). May be useful! Amen!
