Reading Surah Ya Sin on Side of People Who Will Die

Guidelines Islamic Law: Hi all readers! In this article I will explain about the command to reading Surah Ya Sin on the side of people who will die. Maybe there are some of us who have seen people who will die. If a person will die, then he will experience a condition called Sacratul Maut. That’s when we were ordered to reading Surah Yasin.

There are some important things about that that we should know as a Muslim.

As usual, before I explain the commandment to reading Surah Ya Sin on the side of the person who is going to die, I will first quote one hadith that is specifically related to our discussion. The hadith I mean is as follows;

From Muaqqal bin Yassar radliyallahu ‘anhu, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “Read Surah Ya Sin for people who will die.”

All Readers! There are some important things related to the above hadith that we need to know;

  1. The command in the hadith above is a very good recommendation to do.
  2. The hadith explains the virtue of Surah Yasin and the recommendation to read it on the side of people who will die, when he is experiencing the Sacratul Maut.
  3. The wisdom of reading Surah Yasin on the side of people who will die is that at that moment his heart is weak. His heart is only connected to Allah. If we read the Surah, then his heart will be strong, he will be able to justify all things related to religion, and he will be more able to calmly face death.
