Hi all readers! As Muslims we must believe that there is life in the grave. The point is that the janazah or people who have died will live in their graves. There they will get pleasure or torture depending on what they have done in the world. Because there are suggestions to reading istighfar and prayer after burying janazah. That’s what I will explain in this article.
As usual, before I explain the suggestion of reading istighfar and prayer after burying janazah, I will quote one hadith that is specifically related to our discussion.
Hadith About Reading Istighfar and Prayer After Burying Janazah
The hadith I mean is as follows;
From Uthman radliyallahu Taala ‘anhu, he said, “If the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam has finished burying the dead (janazah), then he stands on it (her / his) and says, “Ask Allah for forgiveness for your brothers/sisters! Ask (Allah) so that he/she to be strengthened because in fact he/she is being asked.” The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud.
There are some important things about the above hadith that we need to know;
One; The hadith explains about the suggestion of reading istighfar (forgiveness of Allah) for the janazah after he/she is buried.
Two; The hadith explains the suggestion to ask Allah to give the janazah the strength to answer Munkar and Nakir’s questions.
Three; The hadith explains, that people who have died can benefit from the prayers of the living.
Four; The hadith explains, that in essence people who have died will live again in the grave.
Five; The hadith explains, that the angels Munkar and Nakir will ask questions to people who have died after he/she was buried.
All Readers! That is a brief explanation of the suggestion to reading istighfar and prayer after burying janazah. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!
I think that’s enough for this article. May be useful! Amen!
See you in the next article!
