Hadith About Qabliyah Prayer and Ba'diyah Prayer

The hadith about Qabliyah prayer and Ba'diyah prayer and the virtues of both that I mean is as follows:

عَنْ اِبْنِ عُمَرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ ؛ حَفِظْتُ مِنَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَشْرُ رَكَعَاتٍ ؛ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ فِيْ بَيْتِهِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ فِيْ بَيْتِهِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ . وَفِيْ رِوَايَةٍ ؛ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيْ بَيْتِهِ . وَلِمُسْلِمٍ ؛ كَانَ إِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ لَا يُصَلِّي إِلَّا رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيْفَتَيْنِ

From Ibn Umar radliyallaahu ‘anhumaa, he said," I have memorized ten rak'ahs from the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam; two rak'ahs before the Dhuhr and two rak'ahs afterwards, two rak'ahs after Maghrib in his house, two rak'ahs after Isha in his house, and two rak'ahs before Shubuh. 'The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim. In another history explained, "And two rak'ahs after Friday prayers in his house." Muslims have a hadith history, "If the dawn has risen, then he does not pray except for only two short rak'ahs."

عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيْبَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ ؛ سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُوْلُ ؛ مَنْ صَلَّى اِثْنَتَي عَشَرَةَ رَكْعَةً فِيْ يَوْمِهِ وَلَيْلَتِهِ بُنِيَ لَهُ بِهِنَّ بَيْتٌ فِيْ الْجَنَّةِ . رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ وَفِيْ رِوَايَةٍ ، تَطَوُّعًا . وِلِلتِّرْمِذِيِّ نَحْوُهُ وَزَادَ ؛ أَرْبَعًا قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَبَعْدَهَا ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ

From Umm Habibah, Ummul Mukminin, radliyallaahu 'anhumaa, she said, "I have heard the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam said," Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs in the day and night, then with that will be built a house in Heaven for him. "The hadith is narrated by Muslim. In another narration, it is explained, "(that is all - my addition) sunnah prayer." At-Tirimidzi had a history of such hadith and he added, "Four rak'ahs before the Dhuhr and after, two rak'ahs after Maghrib, two rak'ahs after Isha, and two rak'ahs before Shubuh. "

عَنْ اِبْنِ عُمَرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ ؛ قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؛ رَحِمَ اللهُ مَنْ صَلَّى أَرْبَعًا قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُوْ دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ

From Ibn Umar radliyallaahu ‘anhumaa, he said," Allah's Messenger sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said," Allah blesses those who pray four rak'ahs before Asr. "The hadith is narrated by Ahmad, Abu Daud, and at-Tirmidhi.

The Meaning of Qabliyah and Ba'diyah in Prayer

There are several important things related to some hadith on Qabliyah prayer dan hadith on Ba'diyah prayer above that we need to know;

The first hadith explains the suggestion to do some sunnah prayers (qabliyah and ba'diyah) at home. The hadith also explains the suggestion to perform a sunnah prayer before Shubuh (qabliyah Shubuh) briefly, and that it is two rak'ahs.
The second and third hadiths explain the primacy of the qabliyah and ba'diyah prayers, that it can be a reason for someone entering Heaven.
The three hadiths explain the time to perform Qabliyah prayer and Ba'diyah prayer. The qabliyah prayer is performed before Dhuhr, Asr, Subuh, while the Prayer Ba'diyah is carried out after Dhuhr prayer, Maghrib, Isha . The number of raka'ah is as explained above.

All readers! There are important points about qabliyah and ba'diyah prayers that we must remember correctly. It is true, some of the hadiths above explain the two kinds of prayers. But actually, qabliyah and ba'diyah prayers can be done in the manner below;

Two rak'ahs before Dhuhur - including two rak'ahs before the Friday prayer - (qabliyah) and two rak'ahs thereafter (ba'diyah).
Four rak'ahs before Asr (qabliyah) - that can also be done with two rak'ahs and there is no prayer ba'diyah Ashar
Two rak'ahs before Maghrib (qabliyah) and two rak'ahs thereafter (ba'diyah).
Two rak'ahs before Isha (qabliyah) and two rak'ahs thereafter (ba'diyah).
Two rakaat before Shubuh (qabliyah).

You must remember! There are no sunnah prayers (qabliyah) after Asr and Shubuh.

The intention to perform qabliyah prayer is as follows;

أُصَلِّيْ سُنَّةً قَبْلِيَّةَ الظُّهْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى

I intend to perform the sunnah qabliyah Dhuhur prayer, two rak'ahs, by facing the qiblah, because of Allah Ta'ala.

أُصَلِّيْ سُنَّةً بَعْدِيَّةَ الظُّهْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى

I intend to do the sunnah ba'diyah Dhuhur prayer, two rak'ahs, by facing the qiblah, because of Allah Ta'ala.

The example above is an example of Qabliyah prayer and Ba'diyah prayer which are two rak'ahs. We just need to adjust what is the Dharma, the Asr, and so on. Whereas if there are four rak'ahs, then the word رَكْعَتَيْنِ (two rak'ahs) is changed to أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ (four rak'ahs).
