Purifying Unclean (An-Najaasah) in Penis, Vagina and Anus According to Islam

Islamic Shariah News: Purifying Unclean (An-Najaasah) in Penis, Vagina and Anus ~ Hi readers! In this article I will invite you all to know how to clean the unclean that is in vital organ, like penis and vagina, and anus. In general, the unclean present in these parts is the residual urine and feces that come out of the two parts. Admittedly, this discussion is a general discussion. I think we all know. But in the view of Islamic law, there are some things that we must pay attention to.

In Islamic law, the unclean cleaning activity in vital organs and anus is often referred to as Istinja. Istinja in the sense of its language means the removal of dirt. Whereas in the sense of the term, Istinja has many meanings. Among others are; removing the unclean coming out of the front hole (penis and vagina) and back hole (anus).

The Istinja can be done by using two things; water and stone. But according to some Islamic jurists, this activity can also be done by using other sacred objects that are sacred and can represent the function of the stone absorbing the fluid present in the unclean and minimize or even remove the unclean itself.

I think for water as one of the tools that can be used, we do not need to discuss again. Provided that the water is sacred, there will be no problem in its use. But this is different from the stone or other solid objects that are sacred and can represent the function of stone. There are several conditions that we must pay attention to in their use;

One; The unclean that comes out and will be cleaned is not solid. If it is solid, then the tool that must be used is water.

Two; The unclean that comes out does not pass its usual place, it should not exceed the lips of the penis and the anal canal. If it exceeds the commonplace, it must use water.

Three; The unclean that comes out must not be mixed with other wet things, whether they are unclean or holy. But if the unclean is mixed with a sacred dry object, then it does not matter.

Four; The unclean thing that came out was a common thing; that comes out of the penis or vagina is urine, while the out of the anus is stool.

In addition to the above, what we need to know is, that there are some suggestions when we do activities of al-Istinja. Among them;

One; If istinja by using stones, it is recommended to use three stones. This is according to Islamic law scholars al-Hanafiyyah and al-Malikiyyah.

Two; The stinja with the use of the left hand, should not be the right hand, except in forced conditions.

Three; The Istinja is done in a closed place in order not to be seen by others. And so forth.

The etiquette that must be considered when performing activities of al-Istinja is;

One; Not carrying objects that contain the names of Allah or names that are glorified, such as Angels, Muhammad, Ahmad, and so forth.

Two; Wear sandals, cover heads, and provide a tool that will be used to clean the unclean or perform Istinja.

Three; Put your left foot first when entering the toilet and when out put the right foot first.

Four; When seated, a person is cuddled on the left leg because it will facilitate the discharge of the stool.

Five; One should not urinate where the wind blows, so as not to be exposed to unclean. He also should not urinate in places where water does not flow, or where the water flows but the amount of water is small.

Six; Someone is advised not to look at the sky, its vital organs, and the excrement that comes out.

Seven; When a person is about to enter the toilet, he is encouraged to read the prayer;

بِاسْمِ اللهِ , اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبِائِثِ

In the name of Allah. O Allah, I seek refuge in you from the temptations of the male devil and the female devil.

غُفْرَانَكَ , الْحَمْدُ ِللهِ الَّذِيْ أَذْهَبَ عَنِّي الْأَذَى وَعَافَانِيْ

Your forgiveness, O Allah. All praise belongs to Allah who has eradicated the disease from me and healed me.
