Meaning of Punishment for Zina of the Eyes
One important thing that we must understand first is that the person who commits Zina of the eyes will be punished. What it means is that there are some negative consequences that will be received by the person who has done it. There is a punishment for Zina of the eyes.
But we cannot understand the meaning of punishment always in the form of physical torture. Physical torture is a common form of punishment. But punishment can also be in the form of an uneasy soul, always restless, always wanting to make mistakes or other sins, and so on. The second form of punishment is actually more dangerous.

What I will explain about the punishment for Zina of the eyes are five common punishments that will be received by someone who has committed it.
The five punishments for Zina of the eyes or those who have committed sins with their eyes are as follows:
- The Zina of the eyes causes the soul of the person who has done it to be restless. Why? Because he had seen something that was forbidden in Islam. You must always remember that sin will cause the soul of the person who has committed it to be restless.
- The Zina of the eyes will disturb the concentration of someone who has done it. Why? Because the forbidden things in Islam that he has seen will affect his memory. He would remember it often, maybe even remember it. In fact, it is very likely that he will remember it at times when he is required to be totally concentrated, such as when he is praying.
- The Zina of the eyes will motivate the person who has done it to do other negative things, as if the Zina of the eyes that he has done is watching a "sweet films".
- The Zina of the eyes will reduce the self-esteem of the person who has done it, or even eliminate it.
- The eyes of the person who has committed Zina of the eyes will be tormented in Hell if he does not receive Allah's forgiveness.

Does Allah Forgive Zina of the Eyes?
The third important thing about the "punishment for Zina of the eyes" which I will explain now is "does Allah forgive Zina of the eyes?". I want you to understand that so you know what to do if you have committed Zina of the eyes.
Actually, if you have read several articles about Zina and forgiveness for Zina that I have published, then you already know the answer to that question. That Allah will forgive Zina of the eyes if the person who has done it repents. In some of these articles I have explained a lot of the arguments.
For example, we will find an explanation that Allah will forgive Zina of the eyes if the person who has done it repents in the verses of the Quran and the hadith below:
فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
So, I said (to them, "Ask your Lord for forgiveness (reading Istighfar), verily He is the Most Forgiving (Noah, 10).
ثُمَّ أَفِيضُواْ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ أَفَاضَ ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
Then hasten on from the Place from which the people hasten on and ask the forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
رَوَى الْبَيْهَقِيُّ وَالْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ وَابْنُ أَبِيْ الدُّنْيَا عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ وَلَا أُمَّةٍ اِسْتَغْفَرَ اللهَ فِيْ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ سَبْعِيْنَ مَرَّةً لَمْ يُكْتَبْ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِيْنَ , وَمَنْ اِسْتَغْفَرَ اللهَ فِيْ كُلِّ اللَّيْلَةِ سَبْعِيْنَ مَرَّةً لَمْ يُكْتَبْ مِنَ الْغَافِلِيْنَ
Al-Baihaqi, al-Ashbahani, and Ibn Abi ad-Dunya narrated from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "There is no servant or people who ask forgiveness from Allah (reciting Istighfar) every day until seventy times, unless he will not be recorded as a liar. And whoever asks forgiveness from Allah (reciting Istighfar) every night up to seventy times, then he will not be recorded as someone who forgot."
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ اللهَ يَقْبَلُ تَوْبَةَ الْعَبْدِ مَا لَمْ يُغَرْغِرْ . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ
From Abdullah bin Umar, from the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, "Verily Allah accepts the repentance of a servant as long as he has not experienced naza' (arriving of the soul in the throat when a person is about to die)." The hadith was narrated by at-Tirmidhi.

The First Hadith That Wudu Can Erase Sins Due to Zina of the Eyes
As for the first hadith that wudu can remove sins due to Zina of the eyes what I mean is as follows:
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ
From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, verily the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ الْعَبْدُ الْمُسْلِمُ أَوْ الْمُؤْمِنُ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ خَرَجَ مِنْ وَجْهِهِ كُلُّ خَطِيئَةٍ نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا بِعَيْنَيْهِ مَعَ الْمَاءِ أَوْ مَعَ آخِرِ قَطْرِ الْمَاءِ
If a servant who is a Muslim or a believer performs wudu, then washes his face then all the sins that have been committed by his eyes will come out of his face along with the last drop of water.
فَإِذَا غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ خَرَجَ مِنْ يَدَيْهِ كُلُّ خَطِيئَةٍ كَانَ بَطَشَتْهَا يَدَاهُ مَعَ الْمَاءِ أَوْ مَعَ آخِرِ قَطْرِ الْمَاءِ
If he washes his hands then all the sins that his hands have committed come out of his hands with the last drop of water.
فَإِذَا غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ خَرَجَتْ كُلُّ خَطِيئَةٍ مَشَتْهَا رِجْلَاهُ مَعَ الْمَاءِ أَوْ مَعَ آخِرِ قَطْرِ الْمَاءِ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ نَقِيًّا مِنْ الذُّنُوبِ
If he washes his feet then all the sins that come from his footsteps come out, until he comes out clean from sins.
Second Hadith That Wudu Can Remove Sins Due to Zina of the Eyes
As for the second hadith that wudu can remove sins due to Zina of the eyes, what I mean is as follows:
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ
From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, verily the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَا يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهِ الْخَطَايَا وَيَرْفَعُ بِهِ الدَّرَجَاتِ
Are you willing if I show you something by which Allah removes faults and elevates degrees?
قَالُوا : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ
They replied: of course, O Messenger of Allah.
قَالَ : إِسْبَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ عَلَى الْمَكَارِهِ وَكَثْرَةُ الْخُطَا إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ وَانْتِظَارُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ فَذَلِكُمْ الرِّبَاطُ
He said: “Performing wudu at a time that is not liked (such as very cold conditions), often walking to the mosque (to worship), and waiting for the next prayer after the prayer. So that is ribat."
