Praying (Salat) with Retaining Urination or Defecation ~ Hi all readers! In this article, I will explain about conditions that may be often carried out by many people including us. Yup! The condition that I mean is prayer with retaining urination or defecation. Maybe we consider it as a problematic thing because we assume that we are able to refrain from urinating or defecating while we pray. But the problem is, is that possible?
As always, before I answer the question above, I will quote a hadith that is specifically related to our discussion.
Hadith About Retaining Urination or Defecation During Prayer (Salat)
The hadith about retaining urination or defecation during prayer (salat) that I mean is as follows;
From Aisha radliyallaahu anhaa, she said, “I have heard the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said, “There are no prayers in front of food and there are no two stools (urination and defecation) that retaining both of them.”
There are some important things related to the hadith above that we need to understand;
One; The hadith explains that we are not encouraged to pray if there is food and we want to eat it. That is because it can turn the heart away from prayer and it can eliminate the perfection of prayer.
Two; The hadith also explains that we are strongly discouraged from praying if we retain urination, defecation, and fart that we should spend. The reason is the same as the first point.
Three; Enjoyment of prayer will be lost if we do not concentrate on doing it, just as the pleasure of eating will be lost if we eat with retaining urination or defecation. Enjoyment of reading will also be lost if we do so with these conditions.

All readers! If we understand the short description above, of course we know that we should not be able to urinate or else if we want to pray. We must solve all things that have the potential to disturb our concentration. But what I need to say here is that this prohibition does not mean that our prayers will be damaged if we pray in such conditions.
The point in the hadith above is that we only concentrate on prayer, not others. This discussion is almost exactly the same as the discussion about whether we should eat first or pray first.
Thus, a brief explanation of praying (Salat) with retaining urination or defecation. Do you understand? The problem is simple and the explanation is very clear. So, I hope you understand! If you have questions, please ask!
I think that is enough for this article. May be useful! Amen!
See you again in the next article!
