Why Should You Say Prayer to Allah for Strength?
The first important thing about prayer to Allah in English for strength that I will explain now is “why should you say prayer to Allah for strength?”. I want you to understand that first because that is one of the basic questions in this discussion that must be well understood.
Normally, many people want strength. In general, strength is one of the reasons a person feels calm and comfortable. But unfortunately, the strength can not be obtained easily. In general, before a person has strength, he has done several things to gain strength.
Islam strongly encourages Muslims to say a prayer to Allah if they want something. Similarly, if we strength. Allah says:
And your Lord says, “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible. (Ghafir : 60).
Islamic teachings explain that prayer to Allah is one of the best acts of worship. We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below:
From Nukman bin Basyir radliyallahu anhuma, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “Verily prayer is worship.”
Now, if you ask me, “why should you say prayer to Allah for strength?”, the answer is because praying to Allah is one way to gain strength. I say that because trying to gain strength without praying to God is not enough.
That’s a brief explanation of “why should you say prayer to Allah for strength?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.
Is Prayer to Allah for Strength Accepted?
The second important thing about prayer to Allah in English for strength which I will explain now is “is prayer to Allah for strength accepted?”. I want you to understand that now because it is one of the important questions about prayer to Allah for strength that must be well understood.
Before I give you the answer to the question (is prayer to Allah for strength accepted?), I will quote two hadiths about praying to Allah. The two hadiths I am referring to are as follows:
There is no one who prays with a prayer except that Allah will grant what he asks for or turn him away from a similar evil, as long as he does not pray that contains a sin or severance of ties of kinship.
From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “Our Lord (Allah) the Most Holy and Exalted descends into the world’s sky every night, when the last third of the night remains. He said, “Whoever prays to Me, I will surely answer. Whoever asks of me, I will surely give. Whoever begs me for forgiveness, I will surely forgive him.”
All readers! The two hadiths above explain that Allah grants the prayer of someone who prays at that time. He granted the request of someone who asked at that time. He forgives the sins of those who ask Him for forgiveness at that time.
So, if you ask me, “is prayer to Allah for strength accepted?”, the answer is “Yes. If we pray to Allah earnestly and correctly.”
That’s a brief explanation of “is prayer to Allah for strength accepted?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.
