Mechanisms of Janabah Bathing

Mechanisms of Janabah Bathing: Hi all readers! In general, the explanation of the janabah bath mechanism only revolves around that all bodies must be touched by water. I also explained it in several previous articles. Indeed, it must be like bathing janabah. But, if we examine the explanations of Islamic law, then we will find an explanation that there are at least fourteen mechanisms of janabah bathing. Of course, as Muslims, we must know that. That’s why I wrote this article. So, you have to read it to the end!

By the way, do you know what fourteen mechanisms of janabah baths are? Before I explain all of that further, I want to say that the fourteen mechanisms consist of several things that must be done and which are recommended to be done when someone is taking a janabah bath. The fourteen mechanisms I mean are as follows;

One; Saying the name of Allah by saying “Bismillahi”.

There are two important things that I want to explain about this first point. The first, that saying “Bismillahi” when someone is bathing Janabah must be in the heart. It can’t be said in an audible voice. Why is that? Of course, the reason is because when someone is taking a janabah bath, he is in the bathroom. One thing that has become an agreement in Islamic law, is that one should not say dhikr in the bathroom in a voice that can be heard, because it is inappropriate for someone to say dhikr in the bathroom.

Secondly, that someone may add the phrase “Bismillah” to “Bismillahirrahmanirrahim”. But it must be remembered, that the addition of the sentence must be intended for dhikr, not reading the Quran; according to some Islamic legal experts that “Bismillahirrahmanirrahim” is one of the verses of surah al-Fatihah.

Two; Must intend to do janabah bath to eliminate large hadas.

Three; Put two palms before putting both in the water container.

Four; Washing all najis (najasah) and impurities in the body.

Five; Urinate first before defecating, maybe when someone is urinating then the rest of the sperm will come out. After defecating, when someone cleans the stool in the anus, he must intend to remove the large hadas in two holes; anus and penis or vagina.

Six; Perform wudu perfectly before bathing janabah.

Seven; Taking as much water as the size of palm and rubbing it at the base of the hair, from the head to the beard.

Eight; Pour water on the head until blended up to three times, starting from the right side of the head and then continuing on the left side of the head.

Nine; Pouring water in all bodies, starting from the upper body to the lower body, from the right body and then to the left body.

Ten; Ensure water is splashed in the body’s holes, such as two ear holes, navel, and so on.

Eleven; Massaging the body doused with water to make sure that all the body has been splashed with water.

Twelve; Saying Niyyat at the end of the splash of water. Actually, there are differences of opinion about this. There are Islamic law experts who say that Niyyat must be said at the beginning of the wash.

Thirteen; Get out of the bathroom then wash both feet.

Fourteen; after finishing ghusl, someone recommended to utter the phrase ” أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ (I testify that there is no god but Allah Almighty and did not have allies, I testify that Muhammad is the servant Him and His Messenger).”

All Readers! That is a brief explanation of mechanisms of janabah bathing. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!

I think that’s enough for this article. May be useful. Amen!

See you in the next article!
