Important Points in Janaba Bathing ~ Hi all readers! In some of the previous articles, I explained about Janaba bathing. We also already know that it is one of the obligations that we must do if our conditions require us to do that. Now, in this article, I will explain the important points that we must pay close attention to about Janaba bathing.
As always, before I speak further about this topic, I will quote two hadith that are specifically related to our discussion.
Hadith About Janaba Bathing
The two hadiths about Janaba bathing that I mean are as follows;
عَنْ أَبِيْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ تَحْتَ كُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ جَنَابَةً ، فَاغْسِلُوْا الشَّعْرَ ، وَانْقُوْا الْبُشْرَةَ . رَوَاهُ أَبُوْ دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ
From Abu Hurairah radliyallaahu anhu, he said, “Allah’s Messenger sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam has said, “Indeed, under every hair there is a Janabah. Wash your hair and clean the skin!” The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud and at-Tirmidhi.
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ بْنِ أَبِيْ طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ تَرَكَ مَوْضِعَ شَعْرَةٍ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ فُعِلَ بِهَا كَذَا وَكَذَا فِيْ النَّارِ
From Ali bin Abi Talib radliyallahu anhu, “The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam has said, “Whoever has left the place of hair from janabah, then he will be treated like this and like this in Hell.”
All readers! If we already understand the two hadith above, then at least we will know that water must reach the skin when we are bathing Janabah. If not, then our shower is invalid. If it is not valid, then we cannot pray and read the Qur’an. That is why the Prophet Muhammad advised us to pay attention to it seriously.
