Understanding Jamak Taqdim Prayer ~ Hi all Readers! Maybe you have already heard what is Jamak Taqdim prayer. Yups! That is to do two prayers at the beginning of time. Actually, it is a variant of Jamak prayer.
In the previous article I have explained, that there are certain rules and conditions for doing Jamak prayer. The two obligatory prayers that can be done simultaneously are as follows;
- Dhuhr prayer and Asr prayer.
- Maghrib prayer and Isha prayer.
Thus, we can do Dhuhr prayer and Asr prayer at one time, at the time for Dhuhr prayer, or we do Maghrib prayer and Isha prayer at one time, at a time for Maghrib prayer. This is what is called the plural Taqdim prayer. The word “taqdim (تقديم)” in Arabic means “advance”. That is why two prayers are performed at the beginning of time.
But there are some conditions that we must pay attention to if we want to perform the plural Taqdim prayers;
One: The intention to doing Jamak Taqdim prayer at the beginning of the first prayer. But actually, there are those who allow it to be done when someone is praying.
Two: Orderly. The point is, if we want to do Jamak Taqdim prayer which consists of Dhuhr prayer and Asr prayer, then what we have to do first is Dhuhr prayer.
Three: We must not stop for a long time to pray the second prayer. In the example of the second point, if we finish the Dhuhr prayer, then it is better if we immediately pray Asr.
Four: People who doing Jamak Taqdim prayer is still in traveling. If the status is lost, then he may not do Jamak Taqdim prayer.
Five: There is time to do Jamak Taqdim prayer. That is, in the examples on the second and third points, the time to do the Duhr prayer can be used to do the Dhuhr prayer and the Asr prayer.
Six: Confidence that the first prayer that has been done is valid.
The intention to perform the type of this Jamak prayer is as follows (in the context of the Duhr prayer and Asr prayer which are not Qasr);
أُصَلِّيْ فَرْضَ الظُّهْرِ باِلْعَصْرِ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ جَمْعَ تَقْدِيْمٍ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى
I intend to do the obligatory prayer, Dhuhr with Asr, four rak’ahs, Jamak Taqdim, because of Allah Ta’ala.
