I want you to understand that first before you read more explanations in this article because that is one of the basic things in this discussion that must be well understood.
In simple terms, we can find an explanation of the meaning of sunnah in Islam in the sentences below:
Everything that is narrated from the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, such as sayings, deeds, decisions, attributes of creation and ethics, either before he was sent as a Prophet and Messenger or after that.

The Virtues of Friday
The second important thing about “is it sunnah to cut hair on Friday?” what I'm going to explain now are the virtues of Friday" I want you to understand all of that now because they are some of the important points in this discussion that must be well understood.
Before I explain the virtues of Friday, I will quote some hadiths that are specifically related to them. Some of the hadiths I mean are as follows:
The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "[We] are the last people and the first people on the Day of Judgment. We are the first people to enter Heaven. They were given the Book before us, and we were given it after them. The day that you spread them, and God has explained to us, is Friday."
From Abu Hurairah, he said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said," The best day when the sun rises on that day is Friday. On that day Adam was created. On that day he entered Heaven. On that day he came out of there (out of Heaven). And, Doomsday will not happen except on Friday. " The hadith is narrated by Muslim.
From Abu Hurairah, he said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said," Verily on Friday there is a time when a Muslim stands up to pray and ask for goodness from Allah, unless Allah must give it to him. " The hadith is narrated by Muslim.
All readers! If we understand the three hadiths above, we can conclude that some of the virtues of Friday are as follows:
- That the people before the people of the Prophet Muhammad differed in opinion about Friday and Allah has explained the status of that day and its specialties to us: the people of the Prophet Muhammad.
- Lots of big events happening on Friday; The creation of Prophet Adam on Friday, Prophet Adam entered Paradise on Friday, Prophet Adam came out of Paradise on Friday, and the Day of Judgment occurs on Friday.
- Friday is the best day to pray and pray to Allah. In other words, praying to Allah for goodness on that day will surely be granted.
That is a brief explanation of the virtues of Friday. As Muslims, we must understand that.
Is Cutting Hair Important in Islam?
The third important thing about “is it sunnah to cut hair on Friday?” what I will explain now is "is cutting hair important in Islam?". I want you to understand that now because it is one of the important questions in this discussion that must be well understood.
If we read some Islamic literature, we will find no explanation that cutting hair is important in Islam. So, the discussion about it has to do with whether cutting hair will make someone more beautiful if they look at it or not. In addition, in Islamic literacy there are differences of opinion whether it is better to have long hair or not. The difference will always be there.
So, in my opinion, the standard of discussion about whether or not a cutting hair is important is beauty. I say that because there is a hadith that specifically explains that Allah loves beauty. Look at the hadith below!
From Jabir, he said, "The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "Verily Allah is a Most Beautiful God Who loves beauty, noble ethics, and hates bad ethics."
So, to put it simply, I want to say that if having long hair is a beauty for us, then cutting hair is not important. But if having short hair is a beauty for us, then cutting hair is very important.
That's a brief explanation of "is cutting hair important in Islam?". As Muslims, we must understand that.

In the previous few paragraphs, I have explained some of the virtues of Friday. One is that Friday is one of the best days for worship. I've also explained that if having short hair is a beauty to us, then a haircut is important.
The assumption now is that cutting hair is beauty for us. If so, is it sunnah to cut hair on Friday?
Specifically, I have not found a hadith that specifically explains that the Prophet Muhammad cut his hair on Friday or encourages Muslims to cut their hair on that day. But there are some Islamic experts who recommend cutting hair on Fridays. One of the reasons is because Friday is one of the good days that has many virtues, one of which is to worship.
So, simply, I would like to say that cutting hair is sunnah according to some Islamic scholars.
That's a brief explanation of "is it sunnah to cut hair on Friday?" and some important things about it. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!
