O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal, without awaiting its readiness. But when you are invited, then enter; and when you have eaten, disperse without seeking to remain for conversation. Indeed, that [behavior] was troubling the Prophet, and he is shy of [dismissing] you. But Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it is not [conceivable or lawful] for you to harm the Messenger of Allah or to marry his wives after him, ever. Indeed, that would be in the sight of Allah an enormity. (Al-Ahzab [33]; 53).

In general, one understands hijab in Islam as a head covering, like a veil. One of its functions is to cover the head. In Islam, the hijab is synonymous with Muslim women. Why? Because in Islamic law, a woman's genitals are all her body except the two palms and the face.

In Islam, hijab is very important for Muslim women. Some sects in Islam argue that Muslim women are obliged to wear the hijab to cover their heads. There is a difference of opinion on that. I'm not going to explain that now.

In general, we understand that Muslims should pray when they are adults (baligh). But the discussion about "hijab" which is our topic now is analogous to the command to teach young children to pray.

If we read the Islamic legal literature on the commandment to teach young children to pray, then we will find several hadiths that explain that parents should teach their children to pray at the age of seven. And they were ordered to beat their children who did not pray at the age of ten.

وَعَنْ أَبِيْ ثَرِيَّةَ سَبْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الَجَهْنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : عَلِّمُوْا الصَّبِيَّ الصَّلَاةَ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ ، وَاضْرِبُوْهُ عَلَيْهَا ابْنَ عَشْرِ سِنِينَ

From Abu Tsariyyah, Sabrah bin Ma'bad al-Jahni radliyallahu anhu, he said, "The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "Teach children to pray (salat) when they are seven years old and beat them if they do not pray (salat) by the time they are ten."

عَنْ عَمْرُو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيْهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مُرُوْا أَوْلَادَكُمْ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَهُمْ أَبْنَاءُ سَبْعِ سِنِيْنَ ، وَاضْرِبُوْهُمْ عَلَيْهَا ، وَهُمْ أَبْنَاءُ عَشْرٍ ، وَفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَهُمْ فِيْ الْمَضَاجِعِ

From Amru bin Shuaib, from his father, from his grandfather radliyallahu anhu, he said, "The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "Order your children to pray (salat) when they are seven years old. Hit them if they do not pray (salat) when they are ten years old. And separate their beds."

So, if we compare the minimum age for Muslims to wear the hijab when it comes to teaching children to pray, we can conclude that Muslims are encouraged to wear the hijab at the age of 7 years. That's the answer.

While the Hanbali school (Ahmad ibn Hanbal school) or the Hanafi school (Abu Hanifah school), there is a difference between the visible aurat a little or a lot. If the aurat is visible only a little, then it does not break salat. But if the aurat is seen a lot, then it breaks salat.

1. If we make an analogy with the opinion of the Shafi'i school, we can conclude that Muslim women should not show a little hair with the hijab.
2. If we make an analogy with the opinions of the Hanbali school and the Hanafi school, we can conclude that Muslim women are allowed to show a little hair with the hijab.
