Specifically, there are some important things about “how to do ghusl after period step by step?” which I will explain in this article. Some of the important things about I mean are as follows:

  1. Is It Necessary to Do Ghusl After Period?
  2. When Should I Take Ghusl After Period?
  3. How to Do Ghusl After Period Step by Step?
  4. I Can’t Do Ghusl After My Period, What Should I Do?

Is It Necessary to Do Ghusl After Period?

The first important thing about “how to do ghusl after period step by step?” what I will explain now is “is it necessary to do ghusl after period?”. I want you to understand that because it is one of the important questions about period that must be well understood.

One important thing that you must understand is that period is one of the things that causes Muslim women to be impure or have a major hadas. In Islam, if Muslims have a major hadas, then they are not allowed to perform worship that requires them to be in a holy condition, such as prayer, tawaf, and so on. In fact, in some cases, women who have not performed ghusl after period are prohibited from entering the mosque.

In Islam, the most important way to eliminate major hadas is ghusl janabah. If the Muslims cannot do that, then they have to do tayammum.

We can find this explanation in the following hadiths:

From Aisha radliyallaahu anhaa, she said, “The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam has said, “Indeed I do not allow women who are menstruating and people who are junub to stay in the mosque.” This hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud.

From Abu Sa’id al-Khudri radliyallahu anhu from the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, he said, “Isn’t if she is menstruating then she does not pray and does not fast.”

From Aisah radliyallaahu Taala anhaa, she said, “When we arrived at Sarif, I was on my period. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam then said, “Do something that is usually done by people who perform Hajj, but you do not perform tawaf in the Baitul Haram until you are pure.” This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

That is the main reason why Muslim women must perform ghusl after period. We can find an explanation of that in the hadiths and Quranic verses below:

Allah’s Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “If menstruation has come, then do not pray. If it (menstruation) has gone, then clean the menstrual blood and pray.”

They ask you about menstruation. Say, “Menstruation is something dirty.” That is why you should stay away from women when they are menstruating. And do not approach them until they are pure. If they are pure, then come to them where Allah has commanded you. Verily, Allah loves those who repent and those who purify themselves.” (Al-Baqarah: 222).

The conclusion is that ghusl or ghusl janabah should be performed after period to eliminate major hadas.

That’s a brief explanation of “is it necessary to do ghusl after period?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.

When Should I Take Ghusl After Period?

The second important thing about “how to do ghusl after period step by step?” what I will explain now is “when should I do ghusl after period?”. I want you to understand that because it is one of the important questions about period that must be well understood.

If we read some Islamic legal literature on ghusl after period, we will not find an explanation of when Muslim women should perform ghusl specifically. The point is that there is no specific time to perform ghusl after period.

In Islamic legal literacy, Muslim women are required to perform ghusl after period if they are going to perform acts of worship that require them to be in a holy condition or if they are going to touch the Quran.

That’s a brief explanation of “when should I do ghusl after period?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.

How to Do Ghusl After Period Step by Step?

The third important thing about “how to do ghusl after period step by step?” what I’m going to explain now is a specific answer. I want you to understand that because that is the main topic of this article. So, you should read the explanation below very carefully.

In general, ghusl after period should be done by washing all the skin of the body. We can find this explanation in the hadith below:

From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, he said, “The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has said, “Verily under every hair there is a janabah. Wash your hair and clean your skin!” The hadith was narrated by Abu Daud and at-Tirmidhi.

But specifically, if we read some Islamic legal literature on ghusl after period, we will find an explanation that there are two things that must be done in ghusl after period. The two things I mean are as follows:

One: niyyah for ghusl janabah or after period.

The niyyah for ghusl janabah or after period is as follows:

I intend to do ghusl to eliminate major hadas, as an obligation, because of Allah Taala.

Two: pouring holy water that can purify all the skin of the body, from the scalp to the skin of the two soles of the feet.

That’s a brief explanation of “how to do ghusl after period step by step?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.
