Hi all readers! Are you looking for an explanation of “how many times a day do you do Wudu?”? If your answer is “Yes”, congratulations! Now you are reading the right article. Why? Because that is what I will explain in this article. As Muslims, we must understand that. That’s why I wrote this article. So, you should read it to the end!
Specifically, there are three important points about “how many times a day do you do Wudu?” which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:
The Importance of Wudu in Islam
The first important thing about “how many times a day do you do Wudu?” what I will explain now is the importance of Wudu in Islam. I want you to understand that first before you read more explanations in this article because it is one of the important discussions about Wudu in Islam.
In Islam, Wudu is very important for Muslims. Specifically, I want to say that Wudu will have a positive effect on them, such as peace of mind and so on. In addition, Wudu is one of their privileges on the Day of Judgment.
On the Day of Judgment, Muslims will be resurrected with a radiant state. The light radiates from their bodies which they wash and wipe when they perform Wudu. We can find this explanation in the hadith below:
From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, he said, “I have heard the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam say, “Verily my Ummah on the Day of Judgment will come with white light on all members of wudu (the limbs that are washed and rubbed in wudu) from the former wudu. Whoever of you is able to extend his white light, let him do that.” This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
That is a brief explanation of the importance of Wudu in Islam. As Muslims, we must understand that.
The Best Times for Wudu
The second important point about “how many times a day do you do Wudu?” what I will explain now is the best times for Wudu. I want you to understand them all because they are an important part of this discussion that must be well understood.
What is meant by the best times for Wudu in this discussion are the times when you must perform Wudu and the times when you are advised to perform Wudu. So, there is no specific time for Wudu in this article.
In general, if we read some Islamic legal literature on Wudu, then we will find the four best times for Wudu:
One: when you have minor hadas and you are about to perform obligatory acts of worship that require you to have Wudu or in a holy condition, such as prayer.
We can find this explanation in the following verses of the Quran and hadith:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful. (Al-Maidah: 6).
The hadith I mean is as follows:
From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “Allah does not accept someone’s prayer from you if he has hadas (minor hadas) until he performs wudu.” This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Two: when you have minor hadas and you are about to perform sunnah acts that require you to have Wudu or be in a holy state, such as touching the Quran.
We can find an explanation that only people who are holy or who do not have major and minor hadas, are allowed to touch the Quran in the Quranic verse below:
None touch it except the purified. (Al-Waqiah [56]; 79).
Three: when you have a minor hadas even though you will not perform any acts of worship that require you to have Wudu or be in a holy condition. The goal is that you always have wudu or always be in a holy condition.
We can find an explanation that Muslims are strongly encouraged to always have Wudu in the hadith about the importance of Wudu as I have quoted above and the hadith below:
From Mu’awiyah radiyallahu anhu, he said, “The Messenger of Allah sallallhu alaihi wa sallam said, “The eye is the anal cord. If two eyes have slept then the string will be untied.” The hadith was narrated by Ahmad and ath-Thabrani. He (ath-Thabrani) added (the hadith editor), “Whoever has been sleeping, let him perform wudu.”
Four: when you are sad, your heart is not happy, and so on.
That’s a brief explanation of the best times for Wudu. As Muslims, we must understand that.
