Suggestions Regarding Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adhah: Hi all readers! We all know what Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adhah are. There are several suggestions about the two types of prayer that I will explain in this article. As Muslims, we must know about it.
As usual, before I explain more about this topic, I will quote two hadiths that are specifically related to our discussion.
Hadith About Suggestions Regarding Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adhah
The two hadiths about suggestions regarding Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adhah I mean are as follows;
From Anas radliyallahu ‘anhu, he said, “The messenger of Allah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam did not come out to pray Eid al-Fitr until he ate several dates.” The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari.
From Ibn Buraidah from his father radliyallahu ‘anhuma, he (his father) said, “The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam did not come out to pray Eid al-Fitr until he ate and he did not eat until he had prayed Eid al-Adhah.” The hadith is narrated by Ahmad and at-Tirmidzi.
There are some important things related to the two hadiths above that we need to know;
One: The first and second hadiths explain, that the Prophet Muhammad always ate before he performed Eid al-Fitr prayer. This is a suggestion for all Muslims before they pray Eid al-Fitr.
Two: The second hadith explains that the Prophet Muhammad did not eat before he prayed Eid al-Adhah. This is a suggestion for all Muslims related to Eid al-Adhah prayer. This is the opposite of the first point.
