Why Is Dua for Zina Forgiveness Important?

The first important thing about “dua for Zina forgiveness” which I will explain now is “why is dua for Zina forgiveness important?”. I want you to understand that before you read any further explanation in this article. Why? Because if you have understood that, then you will understand the urgency of our discussion now.

As Muslims, of course we know that Zina is a sin. In fact, it is one of the great sins. Some of the other major sins are shirk, killing, and so on. In Islam, there is a very frightening threat for people who commit major sins.

In general, people who have sinned will always feel guilty. Likewise, people who have committed Zina. He will always feel guilty, sad, and find a solution so that his life is calm.

Feelings of guilt and sadness because of Zina can be removed with repentance. Repentance is the only way to erase all sins, including sins due to Zina. In Islam, there are several ways to perform true repentance. In several previous articles, I have explained a lot about it. One of them is praying.

Now if you ask me, “Why is dua for Zina forgiveness important?”, then the answer is because it is one of the ways that must be done to remove sins due to Zina. Specifically, the person who has committed Zina must repent. One way is to read a dua for Zina forgiveness.

But unfortunately, not everyone understands that. That’s why the explanation of why the dua for Zina forgiveness is important. That is the urgency of our discussion now.

That’s a brief explanation of “why is dua for Zina forgiveness important?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.

The Twelve Ethics of Dua for Zina Forgiveness

The second important thing about the “dua for Zina forgiveness” which I will explain is the “twelve ethics of dua for Zina forgiveness”. I want you to understand all of that so that you understand how to pray properly.

One important thing I want to say before I explain the “twelve ethics of dua for Zina forgiveness”, that the twelve ethics of praying are general ethics of praying. The ethics of dua include good times to doing dua, good places to pray, and good ways to pray.

As for the twelve ethics of dua for Zina forgiveness, what I mean is as follows:

One: reading Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

The first ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is reading Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. As Muslims, of course we already know what Bismillahirrahmanirrahim is. I won’t say much about it now.

We can find an explanation that reading Bismillahirrahmanirrahim is very important in dua in the hadith below:

All important things that do not start with “Bismillahirrahmanirrahim”, then it will be cut off from blessings.

Two: reading Salawat.

The second ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is reading Salawat. As Muslims, we already know what Salawat is. I’m not going to say much about it now.

We can find an explanation that reading Salawat is very important in dua in the hadith below:

From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “All speech that does not start with saying “al-Hamdulillah” and praying to me (reading salawat), then it (the speech) will be interrupted, blocked, and perish from all blessings.”

Three: praising Allah.

The third ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is praising Allah. As Muslims, we already know what it means to praise Allah. I’m not going to say much about it now.

We can find an explanation that praising Allah is very important in dua in the Quran below:

Say, “Call on “Allah” or call on “ar-Rahman”. By what name do you call, He has “Asmaul Husna (the best names)” and do not raise your voice in your prayer and do not lower it (so it is not heard) and look for something in the middle of the two.” (Al-Isra’: 110).

Four: reading Tawasul.

The fourth ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is reading Tawasul. Tawasul is to use an intermediary. For example, you use an intermediary to get something. That’s Tawasul.

When you pray, it is highly recommended that you perform Tawasul on good people, such as the Prophets, Messengers of Allah, the lovers of Allah, etc., or with good things, such as your good deeds.

So, for example, you may say, “O Allah, I am performing Tawasul to Prophet Muhammad so that You may forgive my sins.”

Five: be humble, acknowledge the Greatness of Allah, and admit mistakes.

The fifth ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is be humble, acknowledge the Greatness of Allah, and admit mistakes. Those are some of the things that are very important in prayer. As Muslims, of course we all know that. So, I’m not going to say much about it now.

Six: facing Qibla.

The sixth ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is facing Qibla. As Muslims, we already know what Qibla is. When Muslims pray to Allah, they are highly recommended to face Qibla because Qibla is one of the good things for them.

Seven: pray in a low voice.

The seventh ethics of dua for Zina forgiveness is to pray in a low voice. I think we all understand that. So, I’m not going to say much about it.

We can find an explanation that pray in a low voice is one of the ethics of praying in the Quran below:

Say, “Call on “Allah” or call on “ar-Rahman”. By what name do you call, He has “Asmaul Husna (the best names)” and do not raise your voice in your prayer and do not lower it (so it is not heard) and look for something in the middle of the two.” (Al-Isra’: 110).

Eight: praying earnestly.

The eighth ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is praying earnestly. I’m sure you know what it means. I won’t say much about it

We can find an explanation that praying earnestly is one of the ethics of praying in the Quran below:

So, We answered his prayer and We bestowed Yahya on him and We made his wife able to conceive. Indeed, they are the ones who hasten to do good and they pray to Us with hope and anxiety. And they are people who are devoted to us. (Al-Anbiya: 90).

Nine: believe that Allah will surely answer the dua.

The ninth ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is to believe that Allah will surely answer the dua. People who pray to Allah must do that.

We can find explanations that believe that Allah will answer dua as one of the important things in dua in the Quran below:

If My servants ask you about Me, verily I am very close. I answer the prayer of the person who prays if he prays to Me, then let them obey all My commandments and have faith in Me so that they are always in the truth. (Al-Baqarah: 186).

Ten: not to eat haram food, not to drink haram drinks, and not to wear haram clothes.

The tenth ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is not to eat haram food, not to drink haram drinks, and not to wear haram clothes. In fact, abstaining from haram food, haram drinks, and haram clothes, is an obligation for all Muslims.

We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below:

From Abu Hurairah radliyallahu anhu, he said, “The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “Verily Allah the Exalted is good (thayyib), He accepts nothing but good (thayyib). And verily Allah commands the believers as what was commanded by the Messengers. Allah the Exalted said, “O Messengers, eat from good food, and do good things.” (Al-Mu’minun: 51). And Allah the Exalted said, “O you who believe! Eat of the good sustenance that We have given you.” (Al-Baqarah: 172). Then Allah’s Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned someone who had been traveling for a long time; His hair was disheveled, dusty, and he raised his hands to the sky, then said, “O my Lord, O my Lord.” Even though his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothes are unlawful, and he is filled with unlawful food, how can his prayer be answered.?”. This hadith was narrated by Muslim.

Eleven: praying at a time and place that is efficacious.

The eleventh ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is praying at a time and place that is efficacious (which is good for praying). Some of the efficacious times and places are as follows:

  1. dua at the time between Adhan and Iqamah.
  2. dua when prostrating in prayer.
  3. dua before Salaam in prayer.
  4. dua after the tahajjud prayer.
  5. dua on Friday.
  6. dua at the Qabliyah prayer before the Dhuhr prayer.
  7. dua at the time between Dhuhr and Asr on Wednesdays.
  8. dua during Hajj and Umrah.
  9. dua on the day of Arafah.
  10. dua when ascending to Safa and Marwa when performing Sa’i.
  11. dua when wuquf in Muzdalifah.
  12. dua when after Jumrah Ula and Jumrah Wustha.
  13. dua inside the Kaaba.
  14. dua while drinking Zamzam water.
  15. dua when it rains.

Twelve: dua in prostration.

The twelfth ethic of dua for Zina forgiveness is dua in prostration. As Muslims, of course we already know what prostration is. I’m not going to say much about it now.

We can find an explanation that dua in prostration is one of the best times to dua in the hadith below:

The closest a servant is to Allah is when he is prostrating. So, multiply the dua (in prostration).

That is a brief explanation of the “twelve ethics of dua for Zina forgiveness”. As Muslims, we must understand that.
