In simple terms, I want to explain that dua for traveling is sentences of supplication and dhikr to Allah that are said before traveling. Is Dua for Traveling Important?

The second important thing about dua for traveling in Arabic and English which I will explain now is “is dua for traveling important?”. I want you to understand that now because it is one of the important questions about dua for traveling that must be well understood.

Everyone wants safety for themselves, their families and their possessions while traveling. But unfortunately, this safety cannot be obtained easily. In general, before a person survives a trip, he does a lot of things to anticipate bad things that might happen during the trip. One of them is saying dua for traveling.

Islam strongly encourages Muslims to say a dua if they want something. Likewise, safety while traveling. Allah says:

And your Lord says, “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible. (Ghafir [40]: 60).

Islamic teachings explain that prayer to Allah is one of the best acts of worship. We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below:

From Nukman bin Basyir radliyallahu anhuma, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “Verily dua is worship.”

The third important thing about dua for traveling in Arabic and English which I will explain now is “should we say dua before traveling?”. I want you to understand that now so that you understand whether dua for traveling is important to say.

In the previous few paragraphs, I already explained that dua for traveling is important. But what is important there is advice or sunnah. What this means is that Muslims are encouraged to say dua for traveling.

Now, if you ask me “should we say dua before traveling?”, the answer is “no. We don’t have to say dua for traveling, but if we say that, then it’s better for us.” That’s the answer.

That’s a brief explanation of “should we say dua before traveling?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.

Is Dua for Traveling Accepted?

The fourth important thing about dua for traveling in Arabic and English which I will explain now is “is dua for traveling accepted?”. I want you to understand that now so that you understand whether the dua for traveling is accepted or not.

Before I give you the answer to the question (is dua for traveling accepted?), I will quote two hadiths about praying to Allah. The two hadiths I am referring to are as follows:

From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “Our Lord (Allah) the Most Holy and Exalted descends into the world’s sky every night, when the last third of the night remains. He said, “Whoever prays to Me, I will surely answer. Whoever asks of me, I will surely give. Whoever begs me for forgiveness, I will surely forgive him.”

There is no one who prays with a prayer except that Allah will grant what he asks for or turn him away from a similar evil, as long as he does not pray that contains a sin or severance of ties of kinship.

All readers! The two hadiths above explain that Allah answers the dua of someone who prays. He granted the request of someone who asked him. He forgives the sins of those who ask Him for forgiveness.

So, if you ask me, “is dua for traveling accepted?”, the answer is “Yes. If we pray to Allah earnestly and correctly.”

That’s a brief explanation of “is dua for traveling accepted?”. As Muslims, we must understand that.
