Solution If We Doubt or Forgot in Prayer (Salat) ~ Hi all readers! In this article, I will explain the solution to a problem that might be experienced by someone who is praying. The problem I mean is to doubt or forget. What I mean is, maybe one day, when we are praying, we forget how many rakaat we have done. If we experience such conditions, what should we do?
As always, before I answer the question above, I will quote a hadith that is specifically related to our discussion.
Hadith About Solution If We Doubt or Forgot in Prayer (Salat)
The hadith about solution If We doubt or forgot in prayer (Salat) that I mean is as follows!
From Abu Sa’id al-Khudri radliyallaahu anhu, he said, “Allah’s Messenger sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said,” If one of you doubts in his prayer then he does not know whether he has prayed three rak’ahs or four rak’ahs let him cast aside his doubts and choose what he believes, then he must bow down twice before greeting. If it turns out he has prayed five rak’ahs, then it becomes an even number for him in his prayer. If he has prayed in the perfect rak’ah, the two prostrations will be an insult to the devil.The hadith is narrated by Muslim.
There are some important things related to the hadith above that we need to know;
One; The hadith explains what we should do if we forget or doubt when we are praying.
Two; If we experience such conditions, then we have to choose what we believe and we have to bow down twice before we greet you – in another reference I find information, that we may also do the two prostrations after salutation, but after that we must do the greetings again.
Three; The information in the second point is the opinion of the majority of Islamic law experts, but there are also people who say that it cannot be used as a basis; that is to say, a person who experiences such conditions must repeat his prayer until he is sure.
Four; The hadith explains, that Satan always tempts someone, even though the person is praying.
Five; These two prostrations are called sujud sahwi (prostrations made by forgetting).
The prayers we must read in prostration are as follows;
