  1. Hadith About Cat.
  2. Does Your Wudu Break If a Cat Licks You.

Hadith About Cat

The important thing about “does your wudu break if a cat licks you?” what I will explain now is the hadith about cat. I want you to understand that first because it is one of the important things in this discussion, especially the discussion about cat in Islam, which must be understood very well.

In general, there are many hadiths about cat in Islamic legal literacy. Of course, I will not quote them all here. In this article, I will only quote two hadiths about cat.

The hadith about cat I mean is as follows:

From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, that the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “…a woman enters Hell because she binds a cat and does not feed it nor does she let it go so that can eat small animals that are on the ground until it (the cat) dies.”

From Abu Qatadah radiyallahu anhu, he (Prophet Muhammad) said about cats; “Actually, it is not unclean. That includes the animals that surround you.” The hadith was narrated by four people (Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’I, and Ibn Majah) and Ibn Khuzaimah.

All readers! There are several important things that we can conclude if we understand the hadith about cats above:

One: Muslims are strictly prohibited from harming animals. In the first hadith about cats above it is explained that there was a woman who tied a cat and did not feed it until it (the cat) died. Later, he will go to Hell because of her actions.

Two: in the second hadith about cats above it is explained that the cat’s body is not unclean unless there is najis attached to the cat’s body. So, Muslims can touch it.

That is a brief explanation of the “hadith about cats”. As Muslims, we must understand that.
