Specifically, there are five important things about Dhuhr prayer, Dhuhr rakats, dhikr Dhuhr and dua Dhuhr which I will explain in this article. The five important things I mean are as follows:

What Is Dhuhr Prayer?

The first important thing about Dhuhr prayer, Dhuhr rakats, dhikr Dhuhr and dua Dhuhr which I will explain now is "what is Dhuhr prayer?". I want you to understand that first because it is one of the important things in this discussion that must be well understood.

In general, if we read some Islamic legal literature regarding the Dhuhr prayer, we will find an explanation that the Dhuhr prayer is one of the obligatory prayers in Islam. What it means is that Muslims who are mature and have no justifiable reasons in Islam must perform the Dhuhr prayer. If they do not pray Dhuhr, they sin.

Dhuhr prayer is an obligatory prayer in Islam that must be performed after the sun descends towards the west from the middle of the sky. That is the time for the Dhuhr prayer. We can find this explanation in the hadith below.

Hadith about Dhuhr Prayer and Dhuhr Prayer Times

As for the hadith regarding the Dhuhr prayer and Dhuhr prayer times, what I mean is as follows:

From Muhammad bin Amr bin al-Hasan bin Ali: When Hajjaj came to Medina we asked Jabir bin Abdullah (about the timings of prayer as observed by the Holy Prophet). He said: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam used to pray afternoon prayer in the midday heat; the afternoon prayer when the sun was bright; the evening prayer when the sun had completely set; and as for the night prayer, he sometimes delayed and sometimes (observed it) at earlier hours. When he found them (his Companions) assembled (at earlier hours) he (prayed) early. and when he saw them coming late, he delayed the (prayer). and the morning prayer the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam observed in the darkness before dawn.

From Abdullah bin Amr reported, that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said: The time of the noon prayer is when the sun passes the meridian and a man's shadow is the same (length) as his height, (and it lasts) as long as the time for the afternoon prayer has not come; the time for the afternoon prayer is as long as the sun has not become pale; the time of the evening prayer is as long as the twilight has not ended; the time of the night prayer is up to the middle of the average night and the time of the morning prayer is from the appearance of dawn, as long as the sun has not risen; but when the sun rises, refrain from prayer for it rises between the horns of the devil.

That is a brief explanation of "what is Dhuhr prayer, hadith about Dhuhr prayer and Dhuhr prayer time". As Muslims, we must understand that.

How Many Rakats in Dhuhr Prayer?

The second important thing about Dhuhr prayer, Dhuhr rakats, dhikr Dhuhr and dua Dhuhr which I will explain now is "how many rakats in Dhuhr prayer?". I want you to understand that because it is one of the important questions that Muslims must understand well.

In general, if we read some Islamic legal literature on Dhuhr prayer, we will find an explanation that there are four rakats in Dhuhr. What this means is that Muslims who perform the Dhuhr prayer must perform four rakats.

We can find an explanation that Dhuhr has four rakats in the hadith below:

Hadith about Rakats in Dhuhr Prayer

As for the hadith about rakats in Dhuhr prayer, what I mean is as follows:

From Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, she said: Among that which was obligated on Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was Salat which was two Rakat two Rakat except for Maghrib which was three, and then Allah made Dhuhr Asr and Isha four while one is not Traveling, and made it the same as it was obligated the first time while Traveling (meaning Two Rak'at).

That is a brief explanation about dhuhr prayer that must be understood properly.

In general, there are four things that you should do if you want to pray Dhuhr and if you are praying Dhuhr. The four things I mean are tion of "how many rakats in Dhuhr prayer and the hadith about rakats in Dhuhr". As Muslims, we must understand that.

How to Pray Dhuhr?

The third important thing about Dhuhr prayer, Dhuhr rakats, dhikr Dhuhr and dua Dhuhr which I will explain now is "How to Pray Dhuhr?". I want you to understand that because it is one of the important questions about the Das follows:

  • You have to purify yourselves of minor and major hadas. I've explained it all in several articles about janaba. I won't explain it all again here.
  • You have to say niyyah for the Dhuhr prayer.

The niyyah for the Dhuhr prayer is as follows:

I intend to perform the obligatory prayers, Dhuhr, four rak'ahs, facing Qilah, as an obligation, because of Allah Ta'ala.

  • You must perform the obligatory movements in the Dhuhr prayer, such as takbir ihram, bowing, I'tidal, standing after I'tidal, prostration, sitting between two prostrations, early tashahud, final tashahud, and so on.
  • You must read the readings in prayer, such as reading al-Fatihah, some verses of the Quran, prayer after tahrib ihram, prayer in prostration, prayer in sitting between two prostrations, prayer in bowing, prayer in I'no, prayer tashahud, and so forth.

That's a brief explanation of "how do you pray Dhuhr prayer?". As Muslims, we must understand that.

Dhikr Dhuhr

The fourth important thing about Dhuhr prayer, Dhuhr rakats, dhikr Dhuhr and dua Dhuhr which I will explain now is dhikr Dhuhr. I want you to understand that because it is one of the important topics in this article that should be well understood.

In general, if we read some Islamic literature on prayer, we will find an explanation that some of the best dhikr after prayer, including dhikr Dhuhr, are as follows:

  • Reading tasbih (سُبْحَانَ اللهِ) thirty-three times.
  • Reading tahmid (الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ) thirty-three times.
  • Reading takbir (اللهُ أَكْبَرُ) thirty-three times.
  • Reading tahlil (لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ) once.
  • Reading Ayatul Kursi once.
  • Reading surah al-Ikhlas (قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ) once.

We can find an explanation of the dhikr Dhuhr in the hadith below.

Hadith About Dhikr Dhuhr

As for the hadith about dhikr Dhuhr I mean as follows:

From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, from the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said, "Whoever recites the tasbih to Allah after every prayer up to thirty three times, praises Allah up to thirty three times, and recites the takbir to Allah. up to thirty-three times, the total being ninety-nine, and he said to complete the one hundredth, "There is no god but Allah Almighty, there is no partner to him, all kingdoms are his, all praise belongs to him, He is able to do everything," then all his sins will be forgiven even if they are as much as the foam of the sea." This hadith was narrated by Muslim.

From Abu Umamah radliyallaahu anhu, he said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Whoever reads the verse of al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, then nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise except death." This hadith was narrated by an-Nasa'i. ath-Thabrani added the editorial of the hadith, "And say, He is Allah Almighty (قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ)."

That is a brief explanation of dhikr Dhuhr and hadith about dhikr Dhuhr. As Muslims, we must understand that.

Dua Dhuhr

The fifth important thing about Dhuhr prayer, Dhuhr rakats, dhikr Dhuhr and dua Dhuhr which I will explain now is dua Dhuhr. I want you to understand that because it is one of the important things that must be well understood.

In general, we can say any dua Dhuhr. The point is that we have the right to ask Allah for anything after the Dhuhr prayer. But there are two main duas Dhuhr:

  • Dua for parents.

There are many duas for parents. One of them is as follows:

O my Lord, forgive me and my parents and have mercy on them both as they raised me when I was little.

That is the dua for parents after Dhuhr that we must read. There are many reasons why we should read dua for parents. The main reason is because it is the duty of Muslims to do good to parents. We can find this explanation and some verses of the Quran and hadith below:

And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. (Al-Isra’ [17]: 23).

And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small." (Al-Isra’ [17]: 24).

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination. (Luqman [31]: 14).

From Abdullah bin Umar radliyallahu anhuma, he said, "Someone came to the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to ask him for permission to do jihad. He then asked, "Are your parents still alive?" The person replied, "Yes." He said, "Do good to both of them."

From Abu Hurairah radliyallahu anhu, he said, "Someone came to meet the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. The person then asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who is the most deserving of my service?" He replied, "Your mother." The person asked, "Then who else?" He replied, "Your mother." The person then asked, "Then who else?" He replied, "Your mother." The person then asked again, "Then who else?" He replied, "Your father."

  • Dua that Allah will help us to always remember Allah (reading dhikr), be grateful for Allah's blessings, and worship Allah. We can find this explanation in the hadith below:

From Mu'adz bin Jabal radiyallahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had said to him, "I will instruct you, O Mu'adh, after every prayer do not leave dhikr, "O Allah, help me to remember You, be grateful for Your favors, and worship You well." The hadith was narrated by Ahmad, Abu Daud, and an-Nasa'i.

That's a brief explanation of dua Dhuhr and some important things about it". As Muslims, we must understand that.

All readers! That is a brief explanation of Dhuhr prayer, Dhuhr rakats, dhikr Dhuhr and dua Dhuhr. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!

I think that's enough for this article. Hope it is useful. Amen.

See you again in the next article!
