Specifically, there are three important points about “can husband and wife bath together in Islam?” which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:

Husband and Wife Relationship in Islam

The first important point about “can husband and wife bath together in Islam?” what I will explain now is "husband and wife relationship in Islam". I want you to understand that first before you read more explanations in this article because it is one of the basic discussions in this article that must be understood well.

Islam requires married Muslims to be kind to their spouses. Islam strictly forbids the husband from hurting his wife and the wife from hurting her husband.

We can find this explanation in the following Quranic verse:

O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good. (An-Nisa [2]: 19).

Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand. (An-Nisa [2]: 34).

In addition to the two verses of the Quran above, we can find an explanation that Islam requires married Muslims to do good to their spouses in the hadith below:

"The best of believers are those who are best in character. And the best of you are those who are chosen (morally) to women."

From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, from the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said, "Whoever has two wives and he love one of them more, then he will come on the Day of Resurrection in a tilted state."

That is a brief explanation of husband and wife relationship in Islam. As Muslims, we must understand that.

Can Husband and Wife Bath Together in Islam?

The second important point is “can husband and wife bath together in Islam?” what I'm going to explain now is a specific answer. I want you to understand that because that is the main discussion in this article.

Before I explain the specific answer for the question "can husband and wife bath together in Islam?", I will quote a hadith that is specifically related to this discussion. The hadith I mean is as follows:

From Aisha radliyallahu anha, she said, "I once bathed with the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam in one container because of Janabah. Our hands are different in them." The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

All readers! If we understand the above hadith, we can conclude that husband and wife can bathe together in Islam. The reason is because the Prophet Muhammad had bathed together with Aisha bint Abu Bakr, one of his wives.

That is a brief explanation of "can husband and wife bath together in Islam?". As Muslims, we must understand that.

Is It Sunnah to Bath with Wife?

The third important point about “can husband and wife bath together in Islam?” What I will explain now is "Is it sunnah to bath with wife?". I want you to understand that because it is one of the important questions of this discussion that must be well understood.

In the previous discussion, I have quoted a hadith which explains that the Prophet Muhammad had bathed with Aisha, one of his wives. In a husband and wife relationship, bathing together can add romance to their relationship.

So, specifically, I want to say that bathing with wife is sunnah. There are two reasons why bathing with your wife is a sunnah:

  1. Because Prophet Muhammad used to do that with Aisha.
  2. Because sunnah is everything related to the Prophet Muhammad. That is the general definition of the sunnah. The specific definition of the sunnah is as follows:

Everything that is narrated from the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, such as sayings, deeds, decisions, attributes of creation and ethics, either before he was sent as a Prophet and Messenger or after that.

That is a brief explanation of "is it sunnah to bath with wife?". As Muslims, we must understand that.

That is the brief explanation of "can husband and wife bath together in Islam?" and some important things about it. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!

I think that's enough for this article. Hope it is useful. Amen.
