Sharia / Islamic Prayer Salat / Praying While Travelling Islam

Category: Praying While Travelling Islam

Praying While Travelling Islam ~ Muslims are expected to recite five obligatory prayers every day. While travelling, however, the five prayers can be shortened and/or combined for the sake of convenience. Shortening of the prayer during travel is referred to as qasr, literally shortened prayer.

Pray while standing and if you can’t, pray while sitting and you cannot do even that, then pray lying on your side.

You may shorten the prayers during the journey, but when you reach the place you should offer the prayers in full, because you come under the same ruling as a resident.
