Tayamum with Makeup
Can You Do Tayamum with Makeup? ~ Hi all readers! In a previous article, I have explained wudu with makeup. There are several important things about it that must be understood by Muslims, especially Muslim women. In this article, I will explain Tayamum with makeup. This explanation is closely related to the previous discussion. So, as Muslims, we must understand that.
As we have understood that Tayamum is a solution to purify oneself when there is no water that can be used for wudu or bathing Janabah. That's one of the reasons why you should read this article to the end.
Specifically, there are four important things about Tayamum with Makeup that I will explain in this article. The four important things I mean are as follows:
Meaning of Tayamum with Makeup
The first important thing about Tayamum with makeup or what I will explain here is the meaning of Tayamum with makeup. The goal is that you don't misunderstand the sentence and what is explained in this article.
You should know that what is meant by tayammum with makeup in this article is that you do tayamum when you have makeup on your body, such as powder, lipstick, henna, and so on. So, what is meant by Tayamum with makeup in this article is not using makeup for Tayamum. Why is that? The answer is that the only thing that can be used for Tayammum is water dust which is holy and can be used to purify something or someone.
Effect of Makeup on Tayamum
The second important thing about Tayamum with makeup that I will explain here is the effect of makeup on Tayamum. For me, an explanation of that is very important because there are certain types of makeup that must be removed before a Muslim performs Tayammum and there are certain types of makeup that may not be removed before a Muslim performs Tayammum.
In a previous article I explained that there are two types of makeup:
- One: makeup that has thickness and forms layers.
Makeup that has thickness and forms layers must be removed before a Muslim performs Tayammum. The reason is that the makeup prevents dust from reaching the skin.
- Two: makeup that has no thickness and doesn't form a layer.
Makeup that does not have thickness and does not form a layer may not be removed before a Muslim performs Tayammum. The reason is so that the makeup does not block dust from reaching the skin.
Maybe now you are wondering, “Why does thick, layered makeup have to be removed before Tayamum?” The answer is because a Muslim must ensure that the dust he uses for Tayammum reaches his skin.
Obligations in Tayammum
You may now ask, "Why is there an explanation of the obligations in Tayammum in the discussion of Tayammum with makeup?" Intentionally, I want to discuss the obligations in Tayamum in this article. My reason is so that you have a complete understanding after reading this article.
If we read Islamic legal literacy on Tayamum, we will find an explanation that there are two obligations in Tayammum:
- One: wipe the face with holy dust.
- Two: wiping two hands up to the elbows with holy dust.
Those are the two obligations in Tayammum. Muslims must understand that.
Steps to Tayammum with Makeup
Now I will explain the steps to do Tayamum with makeup. Actually, the discussion about this is the same as the discussion about the steps to doing Tayamum as usual. What I mean is to wipe the dust on the face and two hands up to the elbows.
All readers! That's a short explanation of “Can you do Tayamum with makeup?”. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!
I think that's enough for this article. May be useful. Amen.
See you again in the next article!
