Burying Two People in One Grave ~ Hi all readers! In this article, I will explain the legality of burying two people in one grave. Maybe that looks weird. There was once a condition, or maybe there will be one such condition, which requires one to bury two people who have died in one grave. The question is is that allowed?

As usual, before I explain more about the legality of burying two people in one grave, I will quote one hadith that is specifically related to our discussion.

Hadith About Burying Two People in One Grave

The hadith about burying two people in one grave that I mean is as follows;

From Jabir radliyallahu ‘anhu, he said,” The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam once put two of the victims of the Uhud war in one garment. Then he said, “Which of them has studied the Quran the most?” He then put that person first in the grave. He doesn’t pray for them.” The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari.

There are some important things about the above hadith that we need to know;

One; The hadith explains that one can put two people who have died in one garment if it is in an emergency.

Two; The hadith explains that two people who have died may be buried in one grave if it is in an emergency.
