Hi all readers! I think we all know that the conditions of people who die are not the same. There are many rotten bodies, there are broken bodies, there are good, and so forth. All that is clearly known to the people who bathe him (her/him). That’s why there are some obligation and prohibition for people who bathing janazah (funeral). As Muslims, we must know that. I will explain that in this article.

As usual, before I explain the obligation and prohibition for people who bathing Janazah (Funeral), I will quote one hadith that is specifically related to our discussion.

Hadith About Obligation and Prohibition for People Who Bathing Janazah (Funeral)

The hadith about obligation and prohibition for people who bathing Janazah (Funeral) that I mean is as follows;

From Ibn Umar radliyallahu ‘anhuma, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam had said, “Talk about the goodness of people who have died and do not talk about their vices!”

There are some important things related to the above hadith that we need to know;

One: The hadith explains that we are ordered to talk about the goodness of people who have died.

Two: In addition, the hadith also explains that we are strictly prohibited from talking about the vices of people who have died.

What Are the Rules for a Islamic Funeral?

Maybe we will ask, what is the relationship of the hadith with the obligation and prohibition for people who die?

In the first paragraph I have said, that people who bathe janazah (funeral) are people who know very well about the physical condition of the janazah. If the physical condition of the Janazah is bad, then of course it will be a disgrace to the janazah and her family.

The point is, if a fact like that is discussed, especially if it is told to others, then the family of janazah will be ashamed. But if the physical condition of the janazah is good, then it may be told because it will not hurt the body and his/her family. That is why people who bathe the janazah are strictly forbidden to tell the bad things about the janazah they bathe.

All Readers! That is a brief explanation of the obligation and prohibition for people who bathing janazah (funeral).

I think that’s enough for this article. May be useful! Amen!

See you in the next article!
