Bathing and Urinating in Water that Does Not Flow According to Islam ~ Hi All! In this article, I will explain the law of bathing and urinating in non-flowing water. Of course, we all know what is meant by non-flowing water? What is meant by water that does not flow here is water that is in a pond, bucket, or the like, where the amount of water is not until two Qullah. I explained the explanation in the previous article. So, I don't need to repeat it again.

As always, before I speak more about bathing and urinating in water that does not flow according to Islam, I want to quote a hadith related to our discussion.

Hadith Bathing and Urinating in Water that Does Not Flow

The hadith about bathing and urinating in water that does not flow that I mean is the hadith below;

عَنْ أَبِيْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَا يَغْتَسِلُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِيْ الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ . أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ . وَلِلْبُخَارِيِّ : لَا يَبُوْلَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِيْ الْمَاءِ الَّذِيْ لَا يَجْرِيْ ثُمَّ يَغْتَسْلُ فِيْهِ . وَلِمُسْلِمٍ مِنْهُ . وَلِأَبِيْ دَاوُدَ : وَلَا يَغْتَسِلُ فِيْهِ مِنَ الْجَنَابِةِ

From Abu Hurairah radliyallaahu anhu, he said, “Allah’s Messenger shallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Let no one of you take a bath in water that does not flow when he flies junub.” The hadith is narrated by the Musli priest. Imam al-Bukhari and Muslim priests narrated a similar hadith, “One of you may not urinate in water that does not flow then he bathes in it.” Abu Daud had a history of hadith that read, “A person must not bathe in non-flowing water while he is in junub.”

If we observe the hadith above, we will be able to conclude a number of things as follows;

• Junub bathing should not be done in non-flowing water.
• Junub bathing in non-flowing water cannot make the water unclean, but it can damage its purity so it cannot be used for washing.
• Urinating in non-flowing water can damage the nature of the water.
• The urine is unclean.

For additional information, because maybe there are those of you who don’t know, what is meant by junub bathing is that bathing must be done by someone, both male and female, after having sex and out sperm from vital organs. Especially for women, junub bathing should also be done after the menstrual period (menstruation) and the puerperium (blood coming out of the vagina after giving birth). The mechanism is like a normal shower, only the water used for bathing must reach the skin.

I need to say here, that the hadith above is one of the basic propositions in the study of purification in Islam. It would be very good if we fully understood what was meant by the hadith, because, I need to repeat, whether our body is sacred or not will determine the validity of the worship that we do, and, in turn, will also determine whether or not we worship.
