Hi all readers! Are you looking for an explanation about “how to combine Dhuhr and Asr?”? If your answer is “Yes”, congratulations! Now you are looking for the right article. Why? Because that is what I will explain in this article. As Muslims, we must understand that. That's why I wrote this article. So, you should read it to the end!
Specifically, there are three important points about “how to combine Dhuhr and Asr?” which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:
Combining Prayers in Islam
The important thing about “how to combine Dhuhr and Asr?” what I will explain now is combining prayers in Islam. I want you to understand that first before you read more explanations in this article because that is one of the important things in this discussion that must be understood well.
Combining the prayers in Islam is one way of performing the obligatory prayers. But what we have to understand is that it should not be done under normal conditions. What it means is that it is one of the solutions if Muslims cannot perform their usual prayers.
In Islamic legal literacy, combining prayers is called Jama prayer (صَلَاةُ الجَمْعِ). There are two types of Jama prayer (صَلَاةُ الجَمْعِ): Jama Taqdeem (جَمْعُ التَّقْدِيْمِ) and Jama Takheer (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ).
Jama Taqdeem (جَمْعُ التَّقْدِيْمِ) is to combine the two obligatory prayers and perform them at the time of the first prayer.
Jama Takheer (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ) is combining the two obligatory prayers and performing them at the time of the second or last prayer.
In general, Muslims who combine the two obligatory prayers are when they are on a journey even if the journey does not reach Masafatul Qasr (a journey that allows Muslims to perform Qasr prayers).
That's a brief explanation of combining prayers in Islam. As Muslims, we must understand that.
Which Prayers Are Be Combined in Islam?
The important thing about “how to combine Dhuhr and Asr?” what I will explain now is "which prayers are be combined in Islam?". I want you to understand that because it is one of the important questions on this topic that must be well understood.
Before I explain about "which prayers are be combined in Islam?", I want to explain that prayers that can be combined (صَلَاةُ الجَمْعِ) are only obligatory prayers. So, obligatory prayers cannot be combined with sunnah prayers. But not all obligatory prayers in Islam can be combined
Some prayers that can be combined are Dhuhr with Asr and Maghrib with Isha. We can combine it all with Jama Taqdeem (جَمْعُ التَّقْدِيْمِ) and Jama Takheer (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ). Fajr prayer cannot be combined with any prayer.
That is a brief explanation of "which prayers are be combined in Islam?". As Muslims, we must understand that.
How to Combine Dhuhr and Asr?
The important thing about “how to combine Dhuhr and Asr?” what I'm going to explain now is a specific answer. So, you should read the explanation below very carefully.
In the previous few paragraphs, I have explained that there are two ways of combining the obligatory prayers: Jama Taqdeem (جَمْعُ التَّقْدِيْمِ) and Jama Takheer (جَمْعُ التَّقْدِيْمِ). There are two ways of doing Jama Taqdeem: regular Jama Taqdeem and Jama Taqdeem Qasr. There are two ways of doing Jama Takheer: regular Jama Takheer and Jama Takheer Qasr (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ قَصْراً).
What is meant by regular Jama Taqdeem (جَمْعُ التَّقْدِيْمِ) is to combine the two obligatory prayers and perform them at the time of the first prayer without reducing the rakat of each prayer.
What is meant by Jama Taqdeem Qasr (جَمْعُ التَّقْدِيْمِ قَصْراً) is combining the two obligatory prayers and doing them at the time of the first prayer without reducing the rakat of each prayer.
What is meant by regular Jama Takheer (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ) is to combine the two obligatory prayers and perform them at the time of the second prayer by reducing the rakat of each prayer.
What is meant by Jama Takheer Qasr (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ قَصْراً) is combining the two obligatory prayers and doing them at the time of the second prayer by reducing the rakat of each prayer.

I intend to perform the Dhuhr prayer, four rak'ahs, by combining the Asr prayer, in Jama Taqdeem, because of Allah Ta'ala.
If you become Imam
