What is Jama Takheer? ~ Hi readers! Do you know what is Jama Takheer? For Muslims, it is a very important term to know. But maybe there are some Muslims who don't know the meaning of "Jama Takheer". Maybe you are one of them. If that's true, then you should read this article to the end!
In this article I will explain three important things about "Jama Takheer". The three things I mean are as follows:
Literal Meaning of Jama Takheer
Before I explain more about the literal meaning of "Jama Takheer", I want to tell you that "Jama Takheer" is an Arabic term. The writing is: جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ. So, the term "Jama Takheer" or the phrase "Jama Takheer" is composed of two words: جَمْعُ and التَّأْخِيْرِ.
The meaning of the word "Jama" or "Jamu" (جَمْعُ) is to combine. Meanwhile, the meaning of the word "Takheer" (التَّأْخِيْرِ) is to end. If we understand the explanation of the meaning of the word for word, then we will understand that what is meant by "Jama Takheer" (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ) is to combine several things into one and it takes precedence or is done at the end of time.
In Islam, “Jama Takheer” (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ) is a term that describes one of the ways to perform obligatory prayers. This is the basic explanation of "Jama Takheer".
Meaning of Jama Takheer Prayer
If we already understand that what is meant by "Jama Takheer" (جَمْعُ التَّأْخِيْرِ) is to combine several things into one and that is preceded or done at the end of time, then we can understand the term "Jama Takheer Prayer" very easily. That what is meant by "Jama Takheer Prayer" is to combine two obligatory prayers into one and do it at the end of time. That is the meaning of the Jama Takheer prayer.
There is one important thing that you must understand about the Jama Takheer prayer or combining two obligatory prayers into one, that it should not be done carelessly, and that not all prayers can be combined into one. In Islamic legal literacy, the types of obligatory prayers that can be combined are Dhuhr prayer and Asr prayer, Maghrib prayer and Isha prayer. We must not combine Fajr prayer with other prayers, such as, for example, combining Fajr prayer with Isha prayer, or combining Fajr prayer with Dhuhr prayer. Apart from that, we also cannot combine Dhuhr prayers with Maghrib prayers or Isha prayers or combine Maghrib prayers with Asr prayers or Dhuhr prayers.
So, an important rule in Jama Takheer prayer is that Dhuhr prayer can only be combined with Asr prayer and Maghrib prayer can only be combined with Isha prayer. So, if you want to perform Jama Takheer prayer by combining Dhuhr prayer and Asr prayer, then you have to do that during the Asr prayer time. If you want to perform Jama Takheer prayer by combining Maghrib prayer and Isha prayer, then you have to do it at the time of Isha prayer. That is Jama Takheer prayer.
Niyyah for Jama Takheer Prayer
Niyyah for Jama Takheer prayer is one of the important things that we must understand. If we pronounce Niyyah wrong, then the prayer we are doing is invalid. Now I will give you an example if you want to do Jama Takheer prayer.
If you wish to perform the Jama Takheer prayer by combining the Dhuhr prayer and the Asr prayer, then the niyyah will be as follows:
أُصَلِّى فَرْضَ الظُّهْرِ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ مَجْمُوْعًا بِالْعَصْرِ جَمْعَ تَّأْخِيْرٍ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى
I intend to perform the four rakats Dhuhr prayers by combining the Asr prayers, on a Jama Takheer basis, because of Allah Taala.
