Hello, dear readers! In the previous article, I discussed four things that are permissible for junub people. In this article, I will explain some things that are prohibited for junub people. If someone in this state engages in these actions, it will be considered a sin. As Muslims, it is essential for us to know these prohibitions. That's why I have written this article. Be sure to read it until the end!

Before diving into the details, do you know what actions a junub person should avoid? If not, let me inform you that there are five things a junub person must not do.

Things That Are Prohibited for Junub People

The five prohibitions for a junub person are as follows:

Prayers (both obligatory and Sunnah prayers)

It is prohibited for a junub person to perform prayers. We find this in the following verses of the Quran and Hadith:

Quran (Al-Maidah [5]; 6)

O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.

Understanding the Meaning of Janabah

Hadith

Allah will not accept prayer without purity.

Tawaf Around the Ka'bah (both obligatory Tawaf and Sunnah Tawaf)

A junub person is prohibited from performing Tawaf around the Ka'bah. This is explained in the following Hadith:

Hadith

Tawaf in Baitullah is prayer, except that Allah allows speaking during it.

Touching the Quran and Carrying It

It is forbidden for a junub person to touch or carry the Quran. This is clear from the following Quranic verse and Hadith:

Quran (Al-Waqi'ah [56]; 79)

None touch it except the purified.

Hadith

It is not allowed to touch al-Mushaf (Quran) except by the purified.

Reading the Quran

A junub person is prohibited from reading the Quran. This is mentioned in the following Hadith:

Hadith

Menstruating women and junub people must not read anything from the Quran.

Staying in the Mosque or Going Around It (unless there is a necessity)

A junub person is prohibited from staying in or going around the mosque unless there is a valid reason. This prohibition is supported by the following Quranic verse:

Quran (An-Nisa' [4]; 43)

O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying, or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer], until you have washed [your whole body].
