Important Things Junub People Are Allowed to Do ~ Hi, dear readers! In some of my previous articles, I have explained several aspects of junub (جنابة) or major ritual impurity (hadas besar). Let me remind you, junub refers to a state that temporarily prevents a person from performing certain Islamic rituals, such as prayer (salat).

In this article, I will explain four things that are permissible for people in a state of junub. As Muslims, understanding this is important. That's precisely why I wrote this article, so make sure to read it to the end!

What Can a Junub Person Do?

Before diving into the details, have you ever wondered what activities are permissible for a person in a state of junub? According to Islamic teachings, there are four main activities that are explicitly allowed.

Cutting Hair

If you are in a state of junub and wish to cut your hair, it is completely permissible (mubah). There is no restriction on trimming or styling your hair during this state.

Cutting Nails

Similar to cutting hair, trimming your nails while in a state of junub is also allowed. So, you can feel free to maintain personal hygiene even before performing ghusl (the ritual bath).

Walking on the Road

Leaving your house for any legitimate reason, such as buying necessities or attending to other important matters, is permissible for someone in a state of junub. There is no prohibition on walking or being outside during this time.

Working

Work is an essential part of life, as it enables us to earn a livelihood for food, drink, and other necessities. Whether you work at home or outside, being in a state of junub does not prevent you from performing your job.

Can a Junub Person Eat and Drink?

You might now wonder: "Are junub people allowed to eat and drink?" The answer is yes. Eating and drinking are completely permissible while in this state.

Understanding the Meaning of Janabah

However, it is preferable to perform ghusl (janabah bath) before engaging in daily activities. If taking a ghusl is not immediately possible, performing wudu (ablution) is highly recommended as a form of purification.

Final Thoughts

Dear readers, that was a brief explanation of the four things that are allowed for junub people. Do you understand now? If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!

I hope this article is helpful to you. May Allah bless you with knowledge and understanding. Ameen!
