Mosque Standard Dimensions: Complete Explanation
Hi all readers! Are you looking for an explanation of the mosque standard dimensions? If your answer is “Yes”, congratulations! Now you are reading the right article. Why? Because that is what I will explain in this article. As Muslims, we must understand that. That's why I wrote this article. So, you have to read it to the end.
Specifically, there are three important things about the mosque standard dimensions which I will explain in this article. The four important things I mean are as follows:
Mosques in Islam: Why is it Important?
The first important point about the mosque standard dimensions that I will explain here is the mosque in Islam: why is it important? I want you to understand that before you read any further explanation in this article. The goal is that you understand the focus of our discussion now.
Specifically, if we read some Islamic literacy about mosques, then we will not find a specific explanation of why mosques are important. But we can conclude the urgency of the mosque in Islam and for Muslims if we read some Islamic literature about it, such as the Quran and hadith.
As for some verses of the Quran and hadith about why mosques are important in Islam and for Muslims what I mean is as follows:
Verily, the masjids belong to Allah, so do not worship anyone but Allah. (Al-Jin: 18).
And who is more unjust than one who prevents the mention of Allah's name in His masjids? (Al-Baqarah: 114).
And not a people gather in one of the houses of Allah, they read the Book of Allah and study it, but tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will cover them, the angels surround them, and Allah praises them before the creatures who are with Him.
From Aisha radliyallahu anha, she said, "Sa'ad was hit by an arrow at the time of the Khandaq war. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam then made a tent for Sa'ad at the mosque, so that he could meet him from a nearby place." The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
From Abu Hurairah radliyallaahu anhu, that Umar radliyallahu anhu met Hassan who was developing (poetry) in the mosque. He then looked at Hassan with a denying view. Hassan then said, "I have developed (poetry) in it (mosque). In it there is someone who is better than you. "The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
All readers! If we understand some of the verses of the Quran and hadith above, then we can conclude the two urgencies of mosques in Islam and for Muslims as follows:
- The mosque as "house" of Allah is a good place to worship.
- The mosque is one of the centers of Muslim activity.
That is a brief explanation of why mosques in Islam are very important. As Muslims, we must understand that.
Hadith About Building a Mosque
The second important point about the mosque standard dimensions which I will explain here is the hadith about building a mosque. I want you to understand that so that you understand the premise of the main topic of our discussion.
As for the hadith about building a mosque that I mean is as follows:
From Anas radliyallahu anhu, he said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said," Day of Judgment will not happen until it competes to build mosques." The hadith is narrated by seven people except at-Tirmidhi (Ahmad, al- Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Daud, an-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah).
From Ibn Abbas radliyallahu anhuma, he said, "Allah's Messenger sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "I was not ordered to boast in building mosques." The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud.
All readers! If we understand the two hadiths about building a mosque above, then we can conclude several things as follows:
- Muslims are strictly prohibited from competing in building mosques. The purpose of building a mosque is to get the pleasure of Allah. So, Muslims do not need to be ashamed if the mosque in their area is not luxurious. Competing to build mosques is one sign that the Day of Judgment will soon come.
- Islam does not require Muslims to build luxurious mosques.
Mosque Standard Dimensions
The third important point about the mosque standard dimensions which I will explain now is some of the important things we must understand about it. I will not explain the standard dimensions specifically because until now I have not found a specific explanation about it.
If we understand some of the explanations above, then we can conclude that some things we must understand about the standard dimensions of the mosque are as follows:
- The specific purpose of building a mosque.
The specific purpose of building a mosque that I mean here is the types of activities that will be carried out when the construction of the mosque has been completed.
- The maximum number of Muslims who will perform Eid prayers at the mosque.
I consider the maximum number of Muslims who will perform Eid prayers in a mosque as the standard because at that moment many Muslims come to the mosque to pray. If the number of Muslims who come to the mosque at the moment of Eid is a thousand people, then the area of the mosque must be able to accommodate a thousand people, and so on.
Those are two important things that we must understand to determine the standard dimensions of the mosque. Muslims must understand that.
All readers! That's a brief explanation of the mosque standard dimensions. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask.
I think that's enough for this article. May be useful. Amen.
See you again in the next article!
