Best Position for One Makmum in Jamaah Prayer
Hi all readers! In this article, I will explain the best position for one makmum in jamaah prayer. What I mean is, if in the congregational prayer there are only two people, one person becomes imam and one person becomes makmum, then where is the best place for makmum; on the left side or on the right side?
As always, before I answer the question above, I will explain about one Makmum in Jamaah prayer, I will quote a hadith that is specifically related to our discussion.
Hadith About Best Position for One Makmum in Jamaah Prayer
The hadith about best position for one makmum in Jamaah prayer that I mean is as follows;
From Ibn Abbas radliyallaahu ‘anhumaa, he said," I once prayed with the Prophet (Muhammad) sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam one night. I then stood on his left side. The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam then took my head from behind me and directed me on his right side." The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
