Ghusl Janabat for Female: Three Things You Must Understand
Hi all readers! Are you looking for an explanation of ghusl janabat for female? If your answer is “Yes”, congratulations! Now you are reading the right article. Why? Because that is what I will explain in this article. As a Muslim, you have to understand that. That's why I wrote this article. So, you should read it to the end!
Specifically, there are three important things about ghusl janabat for female which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:
What Is Ghusl Janabat for Female?
The first important thing about ghusl janabat for female that I will explain now is “what is ghusl janabat for female?”. I want you to understand that first before you read any more explanations in this article because that is one of the important questions about this discussion that should be well understood.
Before I explain more about the meaning of ghusl janabat for female, I would like to say that ghusl janabat is an obligatory bath in Islam. It must be done by pouring holy water that can purify all over the body. The meaning is that all the skin of a Muslim who performs ghusl jabanat must be watered. The goal is to remove the big hadas.
So, in simple terms, we can conclude that ghusl janabat for female is a bath that they have to do to get rid of big hadas.
Maybe now you are wondering, “why is ghusl janabat important for female?”
Before I explain more about “why is ghusl janabat important for female?”, I want to explain that there are two things about it that you should understand:
- The big hadas is one of the things that prevents Muslims from performing certain acts of worship that require them to be in a holy state.
- There are several different ways of purifying the male and female bodies.
So, if you ask me, “why is ghusl janabat important for female?”, in general, the answer is:
- Because there are several different reasons why women should perform ghusl janabat and why men are obligated to do it.
- Because big hadas can only be removed by ghusl janabat, unless the Muslims do not get water to do so, then they are allowed to do tayammum.
That's a brief explanation of "what is ghusl janabat for female?". As Muslims, we must understand that.
When Should Female Do Ghusl Janabat?
The second important point about ghusl janabat for female that I will explain now is “when should female do ghusl janabat?”. I want you to understand that because it is one of the important questions in this discussion that must be well understood.
If we read some Islamic legal literature on ghusl janabat for female, we will find an explanation of “when should female perform ghusl janabat?”: The five things I mean are as follows:
Ghusl janabat after sex
First thing is ghusl janabat after sex. So, if they have had sex, then they have to do ghusl janabat. We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below:
From Abu Hurairah radliyallahu anhu, he said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam has said, "If someone has sat between her four branches, then he burdens her, then he must take a shower. " This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim. Muslim add the hadith editorial, "Even though he doesn't come out his sperm."
Ghusl janabat after menstruation
The second thing is ghusl janabat after menstruation. So, after menstruation, then they have to do ghusl janabat. We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below:
Allah's Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "If menstruation has come, then do not pray. If it (menstruation) has gone, then clean the menstrual blood and pray."
Ghusl janabat after a wet dream
The third thing is ghusl janabat after a wet dream that causes sperm to come out. So, if they have experienced that, then they should do ghusl janbat. We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below:
From Umm Salamah, Ummul Mukminin, radliyallahu anha, that she said, "Umm Sulaym, the wife of Abu Talha, has come to the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. She then said, "O Messenger of Allah, verily Allah is not ashamed of the truth: should a woman take a bath if she has had wet dreams?" The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Yes if he has seen the water (her sperm comes out).
From Anas radliyalaahu anhu, he said, "Allah's Messenger sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam has said (about women who dream of seeing something seen by men in his dream him), "She must take a bath." The hadith is narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim. Muslim added the editor of the hadith, "Um Salamah then asked, "And is this there?" He (Prophet Muhammad) replied, "Yes. Then where is that similarity?"
Ghusl janabat after childbirth
The fourth thing is ghusl janabat after childbirth. So, after childbirth they have to do ghusl janabat. One of the experts in Islamic law from Indonesia, Imam Nawawi, said;
Because, really ghusl is obligatory because of the release of water (sperm) that babies are created from, then with the birth of a child (the obligation to bathe) it is more important (because of ghusl).
Ghusl janabat after converting to Islam
The fifth thing is ghusl janabat after Islam. So, if a woman (including a man) converts to Islam, then she must perform ghusl janabat. One of the goals is to rid themselves of the great hadas that existed in their bodies when they had not yet converted to Islam.
We can find an explanation of that in the hadith below:
The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam sent an army to Najd. They then went home with someone from the prophet Hanifah called "Tsumamah bin Utsal". They then tied him to one of the pillars of the mosque. The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam then met him (Tsumamah bin Utsal). He (Prophet Muhammad) then said, "Let go of Tsumamah." After that he (Tsumamah) went to one of the date palm gardens near the mosque. He then took a shower. Then he entered the mosque and said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
That's a brief explanation of "when should female do ghusl janabat?". As Muslims, we must understand that.
How Female Do Ghusl Janabat?
The third important point about “ghusl janabat for female” that I will explain now is “how female do ghusl janabat?”. I want you to understand that because it is one of the important things in this discussion that must be well understood.
If we read some Islamic legal literature on ghusl janabat, we will find an explanation that there are two things that must be done in ghusl janabat. The two things I mean are as follows:
- Niyyah for ghusl janabat.
The niyyah for ghusl janabat is as follows:
I intend to do ghusl to eliminate major hadas, as an obligation, because of Allah Taala.
- Pouring holy water that can purify all the skin of the body, from the scalp to the skin of the two soles of the feet.
That's a brief explanation of "how female do ghusl janabat?". As Muslims, we must understand that.
That's an important explanation of ghusl janabat for female and some important things for it. Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask!
