So, make sure to read it to the end!

In particular, there are four important points about the general methods to convert to Islam in the Netherlands that I will discuss in this article. The four key points I will cover are as follows:

What Is Islam in Simple Words?

The first important point regarding the general methods to convert to Islam in the Netherlands that I will explain now is: "What is Islam in simple words?" I want you to understand this first before you explore further explanations in this article because it is a fundamental question in this discussion that must be properly understood.

Easy Ways to Convince a Christian to Convert to Islam

In general, many people understand that Islam is the final divine religion. What I mean by a divine religion is a faith that originates from God (Allah). Islam was brought by the Prophet Muhammad as the last Prophet and Messenger of Allah.

You are absolutely right if you understand Islam in simple words as explained in the paragraph above. However, there are some other very simple concepts that can help you understand what Islam truly is.

We can find an explanation of these simple concepts in the following hadith:

From Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), he said, "While we were sitting with Allah's Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) SAW one day, suddenly, a man with very white clothes and very black hair appeared before us. There were no signs of travel on him, and we did not recognize him. He sat next to the Messenger of Allah SAW, rested his knees against his knees, placed his hands on his thighs, and said, 'O Muhammad, tell me about Islam: what is Islam?' The Prophet SAW replied, '(Islam is) to bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give Zakat, to fast in Ramadan, and to perform Hajj if you are able to do so.' (The hadith continues)."

Readers! If we understand the hadith above, we can conclude that Islam in simple words consists of the following:

  1. Bearing witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Messenger.
  2. Performing the five daily prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha).
  3. Paying Zakat for those who are eligible.
  4. Fasting in the month of Ramadan.
  5. Performing Hajj for those who are able.

These five points form the foundation of Islam. We can find further clarification in the following hadith:

From Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), he said, "The Messenger of Allah SAW said, 'Islam is built on five pillars: the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing prayer, giving Zakat, fasting in Ramadan, and performing Hajj.'"

Is It True That Islam Is the Best Religion for Us?

The second key point regarding the general methods to convert to Islam in the Netherlands is: "Is it true that Islam is the best religion for us?" Understanding this will help you gain deeper insights into Islam before embracing it.

Generally, there are two main reasons why Islam is the best religion for us:

  • Islam guarantees happiness in both this world and the Hereafter for those who practice its teachings sincerely.
  • The authenticity of Islam's two main sources, the Quran and the Hadith, has been preserved throughout time, ensuring that Muslims follow the true divine guidance.

There is extensive discussion on these points, but I cannot elaborate on all of them here due to space limitations. However, in simple terms, if you ask, "Is Islam the best religion for us?" the answer is: "Yes, absolutely!"

Is Converting to Islam Acceptable?

The third key point about the general methods to convert to Islam in the Netherlands is: "Is converting to Islam acceptable?"

Yes, converting to Islam is completely acceptable! However, it must be based on the six pillars of faith in Islam:

  • Faith in Allah.
  • Faith in Allah's angels.
  • Faith in Allah's messengers.
  • Faith in Allah's revealed books.
  • Faith in the Day of Judgment.
  • Faith in divine predestination (Qadar), both good and bad.

General Methods to Convert to Islam in Netherlands

The fourth key point is a practical guide. In simple terms, there are two essential steps to convert to Islam:

  1. Believing in all the six pillars of faith.
  2. Reciting the Shahada:

"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
