Do You Go to Heaven If You Die in Hajj? Read This!
Do You Go to Heaven If You Die in Hajj? ~ Hi all readers! Shahid death is one of the virtues in Islam. Many Muslims want that. The reason is because the reward for Shahid death is Heaven. Many things can make a Muslim die in a martyr state. The most common is when he does a favor.
One of the good things in Islam is Hajj. In fact, Hajj is one of the obligations in Islam. Muslims who do that are required to do it. One of the important things about Hajj that Muslims often ask is “do you go to Heaven if you die in Hajj?”. That's what I'm going to explain now. As Muslims, we must understand that. That's why I wrote this article. So, you have to read it to the end.
Specifically, there are three important points about “do you go to Heaven if you die in Hajj?” which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:
Hajj in Islamic Law
The first important thing about “do you go to Heaven if you die in Hajj?” that I will explain is Hajj in Islamic law. I want you to understand that so that you have a complete understanding of the topic we are discussing now.
In general, we can find an explanation of Hajj in Islamic law in the two hadiths below:
From Ibn Abbas radliyallahu anhu, he said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once preached to us. He then said, "Verily Allah has made Hajj obligatory for you." Al-Aqra bin Habis then stood up and asked, "Is it every year, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, “If I said that, then it would be an obligation. Hajj (which is obligatory) is one time. As for the Hajj performed after that, it is a recommendation.” The hadith was narrated by five people besides at-Tirmidhi (Ahmad, Abu Daud, an-Nasa'i, and Ibn Majah).
From Anas radliyallahu anhu, he said, "It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is "as-Sabil"?" He said, "Supplies and vehicles." The hadith was narrated by ad-Daruquthni.
All readers! If we understand the two hadiths above, then we can conclude that Hajj is one of the obligations for Muslims who are able to do it. They are required to do that once in a lifetime.
Rewards for Muslims Who Perform Hajj
The second important thing about “do you go to Heaven if you die in Hajj?” What I will explain here is the reward for Muslims who perform Hajj. In general, we can find it in the hadith below:
From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "One Umrah to another Umrah is an atonement for sins that are between the two. There is no other reward for Hajj Mabrur except only Heaven.” This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
All readers! If we understand the hadith above, then we can conclude that the reward for Muslims who have performed the Mabrur Hajj is Heaven.
Do You Go to Heaven If You Die in Hajj?
The important point when I want to be specific is the answer to the question “do you go to Heaven if you die in Hajj?”. Honestly, I would like to say that I have not found any specific explanation in the hadith or the Quran on this question.
But if we read the hadiths that explain the virtue of dying in Hajj and some of the previous explanations, then we can conclude that Muslims who die in Hajj will go to Heaven. As for the hadith regarding the virtue of dying in Hajj, what I mean is as follows:
From Ibn Abbas radliyallahu anhuma, he said, "There was a man doing wukuf at Arafat and fell from his animal vehicle so he was trampled on. (or he [Ibn Abbas] said), "So that person died instantly." The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Bathe him with water mixed with bidara leaves and the shroud on his body with two pieces of cloth and do not give perfume and do not put a headgear because he will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment in a state of doing Talbiyah." This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
So, we can conclude that you will go to Heaven if you die in Hajj.
