  • What Is Islam in Simple Words?
  • Is Islam a Good Religion for Us?
  • Is Converting to Islam Okay?
  • Common Tips to Convert to Islam in Nepal.

What Is Islam in Simple Words?

The first key point in understanding how to convert to Islam in Nepal is answering the question, "What is Islam in simple words?" You must first understand this before moving forward, as it is a fundamental concept in this discussion.

Easy Ways to Convince a Christian to Convert to Islam

Generally, many people understand that Islam is the final divine religion. What I mean by a divine religion is that Islam originates from Allah (God) and was conveyed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last Prophet and Messenger.

You are correct if you understand Islam in simple words as explained above. However, there are some additional points that can further clarify what Islam is.

We can find an explanation of Islam in the following hadith:

From Umar bin Khattab radliyallahu anhu. He said, "While we were resting with Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam eventually, all of a sudden a male who was wearing very white clothes and very black hair came to us. We didn't see the darkness beneath him, until he attracted close to to the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. He after that leaned his knees on his (Prophet Muhammad's) knees and positioned his 2 practical his (Prophet Muhammad) thighs. After that he said, "O Muhammad, inform me about Islam: what is Islam?" He (Prophet Muhammad) replied, "(Islam is) you birth witness that there's no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, you perform prayers, you pay Zakat, you fast in Ramadan, and you perform Hajj if you're able to do so." (The hadith is long).

From this hadith, we can conclude that Islam, in simple terms, consists of the following five pillars:

  1. Bearing witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger.
  2. Performing the five daily prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha).
  3. Paying zakat (charity) for those who are obligated to do so.
  4. Fasting during the month of Ramadan.
  5. Performing Hajj for those who are financially and physically able.

These five pillars form the foundation of Islam, as reinforced in another hadith:

From Abdullah bin Umar radliyallahu anhuma, he said, "The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Islam is built on five things; testament that there's no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, carrying out prayers, paying zakat, fasting in Ramadan, and visiting Baitullah (carrying out Hajj)."

Thus, understanding Islam begins with these fundamental principles.

Is Islam a Good Religion for Us?

The second important point is whether Islam is a good religion for us. Before converting, it is essential to understand why Islam is beneficial.

In general, two main reasons make Islam an excellent religion:

  1. Islam guarantees happiness in both this world and the hereafter for those who sincerely follow its teachings.
  2. The authenticity of Islam's primary sources (the Quran and Hadith) has been preserved over time, ensuring that Muslims follow a divinely revealed and unchanged doctrine.

There is extensive discussion on these two points, but in simple terms, if you ask, "Is Islam a good religion?" the answer is undoubtedly "Yes!"

Is Converting to Islam Okay?

The third key point is whether converting to Islam is acceptable. Many people wonder if embracing Islam is just a trend or if it is truly permissible.

The answer is Yes! Converting to Islam is absolutely okay. However, it must be based on sincere belief in the six articles of faith in Islam:

  1. Belief in Allah.
  2. Belief in His angels.
  3. Belief in His messengers.
  4. Belief in His scriptures.
  5. Belief in the Day of Judgment.
  6. Belief in divine decree (both good and bad).

By understanding these principles, it becomes clear that converting to Islam is not only permissible but also encouraged for those seeking the truth.
