There are four important points about the common techniques to convert to Islam in Oman that I will discuss in this article. These four key points are as follows:
What Is Islam in Simple Words?
The first important point about the common techniques to convert to Islam in Oman that I will clarify is: "What is Islam in simple words?" Before diving deeper into this topic, it is essential to understand this fundamental question.
Easy Ways to Convince a Christian to Convert to Islam
In general, many people understand that Islam is the final divine religion. What I mean by "divine religion" is a faith that originates from God (Allah). Islam was brought by the Prophet Muhammad as the last Prophet and Messenger of Allah.
That is correct. If you understand Islam in simple words as described above, you are not mistaken. However, there are additional essential aspects that can help you understand Islam more clearly.
We can find an explanation of these aspects in the following hadith:
From Umar bin Khattab (radliyallahu anhu), he said, "While we were with Allah's Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam one day, a man with extremely white clothes and very black hair suddenly appeared. We did not see any signs of travel on him, nor did we recognize him. He then sat close to the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, placed his knees against his (Prophet Muhammad’s) knees, and put his hands on his (Prophet Muhammad’s) thighs. He then asked, 'O Muhammad, tell me about Islam. What is Islam?' The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, 'Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to pay zakat, to fast in Ramadan, and to perform Hajj if you are able to do so.'"
Five Pillars of Islam
From the hadith above, we can conclude that Islam in simple words consists of the following:
- Testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger.
- Performing the five daily obligatory prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha).
- Paying zakat (charitable giving) for those required to do so.
- Fasting during the month of Ramadan.
- Performing Hajj for those who are able.
These five principles are known as the Five Pillars of Islam, as mentioned in the following hadith:
From Abdullah bin Umar (radliyallahu anhuma), he said, "The Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, 'Islam is built upon five things: testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing prayer, giving zakat, fasting in Ramadan, and performing Hajj.'"
Is Converting to Islam Permissible?
The third important point regarding the common techniques to convert to Islam in Oman is: "Is converting to Islam permissible?" The answer is a resounding "Yes!" Converting to Islam is absolutely permissible and encouraged.
However, one must understand that converting to Islam requires belief in the Six Articles of Faith:
- Faith in Allah.
